Poll: McGinty overtaking Toomey in Pa. Senate race

Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

WASHINGTON -- Another new poll has found Democrat Katie McGinty surging into a late summer lead over Republican Sen. Pat Toomey in the critical Pennsylvania senate race.

A Quinnipiac University survey released this morning found Ms. McGinty leading Mr. Toomey, 47 percent to 44 among likely Keystone State voters. That's within the poll's margin of error, but suggests a far tighter contest than pollsters found earlier this summer, when Mr. Toomey had solid leads.

The new poll is the third in the past week showing Ms. McGinty, Gov. Tom Wolf's former chief of staff, with a small lead a few weeks ahead of Labor Day, when campaigns typically kick into high gear. Her rise coincides with Hillary Clinton's sharp gains in Pennsylvania in the wake of the Democratic National Convention.

He's upholding the Garland Embargo, but points to his 30 minute chat with the Judge
and says he's not a 'rubber stamp' for his party - so why does he follow McConnell's
judicial embargo?

He's now micro-managing the campaign - going after issues such as his sudden opposition to
sanctuary cities in wake of a crime involving the issue in Philadelphia

McGinty is tough as nails and will have union support for sure

But with her up 3 and Clinton up 10 in the state, you can see the Senate
race is going to be close

Katie McGinty needs momentum!

Only way I trust someone to be pro-gun control is if they are NOT a member of the GOP. I know there are democrats who are pro-guns but few and far between. GOP always votes for the NRA.

High voter turnout for Presidential elections along with Trump being an a-hole means not just picking up Pennsylvania for the US Senate but probably Wisconsin and Illinois too! Maybe even New Hampshire!

It's curious that he doesn't experience much greater difficulty in getting re-elected; the mainstream media I suspect, as they so often do, don't really highlight how reactionary many of the GOP senators who hail from states like PA and WI (Toomey worse) are, leaving the voters to make sense out of the back-and-forth in the campaigns as the MSM lays down on the job of journalism, or rather "do the job" of justifying the lying

Just got a flier today in the mail from them. 2 page, fold out glossy on heavy paper slamming McGinty. Outside described her as lacking in "leadership" just like the white house was "vacant" of leadership. They tried to drive it home with a poorly executed hotel "vacancy" sign with McGinty's head at the top. Looked more like a frakin pez dispenser instead of meaningful, visual shade.

They were darn proud of that thing too- it was repeated all over the flier.

The inside was a wee bit more offensive. They are going for the "brown people are scurry" appeal to independent voters and ranted about how she would be weak on terror because she supports sanctuary cities and the closing of Guantanamo Bay.

They should have paid more for research and add development if they are going to peddle anti-ethnic sentiment in a city where white folk make up maybe 30% of the population. Using an open mouthed picture of a blonde woman's head above the word "vacant" probably isn't the smartest course of action when courting female voters, either.

I *DO* want a Katie McGinty pez dispenser now, so at least they got something for their money.
