Clinton agrees to debate schedule

Source: Washington Post

MIAMI -- Democrat Hillary Clinton will participate in the three presidential debates as scheduled, her campaign said Monday in response to complaints from Republican Donald Trump that the dates are unsuitable.

Trump has complained that the Commission on Presidential Debates scheduled two of the debates on NFL game nights, reducing viewership. The commission has said the dates were selected long before the NFL schedule was set.

"Secretary Clinton looks forward to participating in all three presidential debates scheduled by the independent debate commission," Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta said.

The prime-time sessions are set for Sept. 26, Oct. 9 and Oct. 19.

1. He's probably better off if the viewership is down...

Something tells me the American people won't take kindly to him if he gets personal with Hillary. And it's not just that she's a woman, although that might be part of it, but it is just not Presidential for a candidate to lower himself to insults on the national stage.

(That's what the staff is for.)

Trump's people are right about one thing: his supporters won't be tearing themselves away from the games to watch the debates. They'd rather read the Constitution, which they won't do, either.

Their chosen media sources will play it as a win for Trump the next day, but that trick only works for the people who are going to vote for him, anyway. That makes the first two debates a great pick-up opportunity for fence-sitters and the disaffected.

An ideal outcome would be increased disinterest and lowered voter turnout among the "low-information" voters, and increased enthusiasm and higher turnout among those who know what's what.

I'll bet hell pull out allegedly because of the dates but actually because he doesn't want to debate her.

The debates will just be a platform for H by herself. Just watch.

16. Which issues can Trump debate and really make any sense..and

will the Trump campaign have that little communication box strapped under Trump's coat as they did George Jr...in 2004? Oops I just gave them the idea....

If you really think about it are there any of Trump's supporters that talk about issues?..they just launch personal attacks because they have nothing..in the Republican Party when the business community hates you that pretty much says "you're toast" as a candidate and that is where Trump stands right now.

He's doing a great job screwing his campaign all by himself. I say we just put him on stage with an empty chair and make Clint Eastwood the moderator.

There's risk to debating Trump

He's arrogant, interrupts all the time, won't abide by rules, and has no content.

'Look folks, my plan is the greatest, are you going to accept my plan that is
loved by everyone because it's the best plan, the best ever, or are you going
to listen to Crooked Hillary's plan, that is so crooked. Best versus worst, pundits
are all over it.'

I also don't understand 3 debates. Two would be more than enough.

But at least they are early.

I don't worry about Hillary. It's not just that she's confident. She is wiser
than her hubby in office, she has a wisdom and inner peace about her. She
will take no guff from Orange Man.

But the moderators. Trying to trip up the candidates. Specific Constitutional
questions. Hope she's reading it.

Ignore the question that was asked and just free associate about whatever he believes the viewers actually want to hear discussed.

IOW expect every answer to be about the emails and Benghazi.

HRC will put him in his crib so he can cry himself to sleep.
I hope he doesn't drop out of the race or that someone will replace him because I would love to see a hhuuuuuuugggeee landslide victory for the Democrats.

and not just in the Presidential election. We need the Senate AND the House. Well, the Senate anyway. I can only hope for the House.

I'll probably be screaming at Drumpf for all of his ongoing litany of lies, with large dollops of racism and hatred for appetizers, but I will be watching. I hope HRC absolutely shreds him. Glad it's not me, I couldn't keep my cool when he comes out with a lie a minute and gets so mean and personal about family. HRC is a seasoned pro, so hope she gets lots of drilling on how to handle batshit crazy.

19. The debate committee did their job well. Scheduling 2 debates opposite NFL games and in the middle

a three day weekend is sure to drive down viewership. Mission accomplished. Well done.

Great in your face joke by the debate commission that they scheduled the debates well before the NFL schedule was released so how could they possibly guess there would be NFL games on Monday nights? LOL.
