Trump would freeze new federal regulations, revive Keystone: speech

Source: Reuters

08 AUG 2016 AT 08:41 ET

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump would impose a temporary moratorium on new federal regulations and revive Transcanada’s Keystone pipeline project, according to an outline of an economic speech Monday obtained by Reuters.

Trump’s proposals include measures to simplify taxes for everyone and dramatically reduce the income tax and to “remove bureaucrats who only know how to kill jobs; replace them with experts who know how to create jobs,” according to the outline.

3. Odd how "America first" people want the federal approval of the Keystone XL.

How the hell is that "America first" when the people wanting to build that section through NE want to take the property by eminent domain. Imagine that, a foreign owned company, yes, TransCanada is a foreign owned corporation, being allowed to take land that belongs to American citizens. How damned American is that??????? How can those so-called 'take America back" people support such a measure? Then toss in the facts surrounded the route they want to run that thing as a secondary issue.

The construction jobs created would last about 18 months. The continuous employment would be less than a dozen. None of the oil would benefit the US one bit. It would all be shipped out after it hits the Gulf Shore. Why do people think they widened the Panama Canal? To handle the supertankers.

12. Eminent Domain - I can just hear tRump talking about the need to make sacrifices

I absolutely HATE the use of eminent domain, and doubly so when a corporation is going to profit from it. The fact that this would be a foreign corporation profiting from the taking of people's homes makes it even worse.

Someone should ask tRump about this, I just know that he'd put on his snarky face and say something to the effect that some people need to make sacrifices for the greater good.

All he does his this:
