Clinton surges to big lead in McClatchy-Marist poll

WASHINGTON
Hillary Clinton has surged to a 15-point lead over reeling, gaffe-plagued Donald Trump, according to a new McClatchy-Marist poll.

Clinton made strong gains with two constituencies crucial to a Republican victory – whites and men — while scoring important gains among fellow Democrats, the poll found.

Clinton not only went up, but Trump went down. Clinton now has a 48-33 lead, a huge turnaround from her narrow 42-39 advantage last momth.

The findings are particularly significant because the poll was taken after both political conventions ended, and as Trump engaged in a war of words with the parents of Army Capt. Humayun Khan, killed in the Iraq War 12 years ago.

I think this is effect rather than cause; the accumulation of State polling leads is being aggregated into national polling now.

Everybody can stop calling what Trump is doing "Gaffes".

It's how he operates. He throws everything he can think of into the wind, hoping something sticks. It's known in sales training as Spray-n-Pray, and it's the tactical approach of somebody who's either an extraordinarily weak salesman, or one who knows he has nothing to sell that's worth buying - it's all just Vaporware.

10. BOOM! Frankly, I expected to see some numbers like this.

Trump is an ill-educated abusive maniac who has no qualifications for the office. It seems that more and more of the American people are becoming tuned in to these facts, and it makes their election decision into a "no-brainer".....

I did think it would take just a little longer than this, but Trump's been a busy beaver this week (with my apologies to beavers!)

11. Great news about our Great candidate

No doubt the race will tighten. But folks - we have the best opportunity in decades to vote in a filibuster-proof congress AND have a super qualified and progressive president. Let's work to make it happen!
