Trump’s attempts to win over Latinos all but over after ‘Hispanic outreach’ effort implodes: report

Source: RawStory/BuzzFeed

There was never much of a chance that Donald Trump could win over a sizable portion of Hispanic voters, no matter how many photos he posted of himself eating taco bowls. All the same, a new report claims that Trump’s planned Hispanic outreach campaign has already crashed and burned.

According to BuzzFeed, a Trump campaign official recently told off radio personality Ileana Garcia, who formed the Latinas for Trump group and who said she planned to serve as the Trump campaign’s national Latino spokeswoman. The Trump campaign was apparently not happy that she said she would serve as a spokeswoman before anything was finalized, and a Florida campaign official eventually told her to “do whatever the f*ck you want” because “I don’t know what I’m going to do with you, anyway.”

Additionally, Trump’s plan to do a “Hispanic engagement tour” have been tossed aside after a series of cancelled events with Hispanic business leaders.

“I think they couldn’t get enough people to come to the event because their support among Hispanic voters is 14%, what do they expect?” Artemio Muniz, a Texas Republican who opposes Trump, tells BuzzFeed.

I live in San Diego, California, and no real Mexican restaurant has taco bowls on the menu.

Taco Bell and Chipotle are not real Mexican restaurants.

The "mom and pop" style taco shops are the "real" Mexican food places.

but taco bowls or taco salads are widely sold in Tex-Mex restaurants in Texas. And while they aren't Mexican, they are Tex-Mex and most of the Mexican-American voters here in the US aren't technically Mexican either, in the sense that they we're born here and are American, like 9th generation American Eva Longoria who famously said "we didn't cross the border, the border crossed us. Cuban. Not all Hispanics and their food are Mexican and tacos. Look up the translation, but don't take it literally.

I have not heard that Rubio (Cuban heritage) will be campaigning for Trump in Florida.
