Right blames Ryan for rebel’s loss

Source: The Hill

Allies of the conservative Freedom Caucus rebel defeated in a Tuesday GOP primary are seeking revenge against Speaker Paul Ryan.

Conservatives say the Speaker didn’t do enough to help Rep. Tim Huelskamp, who was defeated in the Kansas primary by Roger Marshall, a Chamber of Commerce-backed obstetrician.

Now some conservatives are threatening to oppose the Wisconsin Republican when he runs for his first full term as Speaker after the Nov. 8 general election.

“Last night was a watershed evening: The establishment took out a sitting member of Congress and Paul Ryan became a lame duck Speaker,” said one conservative lawmaker, who backed Ryan for Speaker last fall but vows to vote against him next time.

The guy only tried to undermine Ryan (and Boehner) on numerous occasions
Why wouldn't Ryan support his own Brutus

Farm bill is a yuge deal for farmers. Many family farms cannot survive without subsidies, loan guarantees, market protections, and yes, food stamps so that more folk can buy their food products.

Many farmers are conservative and rail (and vote) against big government and regulations, but you will be hard pressed to find a farm family that is not subsidized by the Federal Government.

He was removed from the Agriculture Committee when the other committee members asked the Steering Committee to remove him for not working with them on legislation.

The Agriculture Committee seat is critical to Kansas and without it, Huelskamp was useless to his district and they voted him out because of it.
