Updated 6:39 pm, Wednesday, August 3, 2016
ATLANTA (AP) A Georgia Republican resigned Wednesday from his role as an elector, hours after saying he can't vote for GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump and may not support him as a member of the electoral college.
Baoky Vu said in a joint statement with the Georgia Republican Party that his comments on Trump would be "detrimental" to the party.

Vu was chosen by Georgia Republicans as an elector, constitutionally required stand-ins for presidential candidates in the electoral college system.

(310 posts)As a long time Dem in GA, the dominance of the Republican Party here has embarrassed me (Gingrich, Paul Broun, Zell Miller, etc.) more times than I'd ever want to count.
My personal state motto is "Georgia - better than Mississippi." Sooooo glad I was born in NY.
