Trump: I'm Concerned About 'Rigged' Election After Voter ID Rulings
Source: Talking Points Memo
Donald Trump on Tuesday said that he has raised concerns about a "rigged" election in November due to several recent rulings striking down voter ID laws.
"Well, Im looking at all of these decisions coming on down from the standpoint of identification, voter ID. And Im saying, What do you mean, you dont have to have voter ID to now go in and vote? And its a little bit scary, and Ive heard a lot of bad things," Trump told Fox News' Bill OReilly when asked why he's concerned the election will be rigged. I mean, people are going to walk in, they are going to vote 10 times maybe. Who knows?"
"I hope the Republicans are going to be very watchful, and I hope the authorities are going to be very watchful, he added.
Trump also mentioned concerns about voter ID in a Tuesday interview with Washington, D.C. television station WJLA. When asked whether he has reason to believe something illegal could take place, Trump said, "I just hear things, and I just feel it, and I felt it having to do with the primaries."

(3,282 posts)And the right wing accuses liberals of being all touchy-feely. Well, they believe all of their feelings over actual facts, so stop projecting, okay?
Just like that Newt Gingrich clip that John Oliver talked about: It's a feeling he has, it's a feeling the voters have, that's just as valid as your so-called facts.
NO! No it isn't! Not even remotely!

(195 posts)The Donald keeps "hearing things". Every answer to every question. "I've heard a lot of bad things" or "I'm hearing these things" or "I've heard some people saying...".
Come on Donald, who is telling you these "things". Or, are you just Travis Bickle talking with a mirror?
Either way, I don't know which alternative is scarier!

(24,653 posts)Sorry, but I don't only see ignorance and bombast here. I see bigotry at the root of it. I think he knows damn well what the laws that were struck down were intended to do.

(27 posts)Anyone else feel like this is Trump laying the ground work for an excuse when/if he loses in November? The guy can't stand to lose so the system must obviously be rigged to protect his persona. Moreover, floating this line helps the Republicans denounce Clinton as illegitimate. Just a thought....

(17,444 posts)After all, in no way could a loss be little ole Punkin Head Rump's fault. I can hear him now, "Believe me, it was rigged, people are saying, I mean, I'm telling the truth."
I think he needs to ditch the "believe me" and "it's the truth" rhetoric and use "I ain't even lying, this time". It would be more amusing.
