Vice-president of Republicans Overseas calls Donald Trump 'truly psychologically unbalanced'

Source: International Business Times

The Vice-president of Republicans Overseas Dr Jan Halper-Hayes has lashed out the GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, calling the billionaire "truly psychologically unbalanced".

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Hayes, whose organisation represents 8.7m Republicans abroad, said that while she felt guilty for criticising the head of her party, Trump had "gone over the top".

Hayes explained she had the property mogul and former reality TV star fill out a temperament assessment for her book Quiet Desperation: The Truth About Successful Men.

She said his temperament, the personality traits he was born with, were "really concerning" and added "Donald is out of control right now".

She also claims Newt Gingrich, Laura Ingraham and Ben Carson are very concerned about his behaviour.

It's preceded by an interview with Daniel Kay Johnstone, a biographer of Trump, with a multitude of reasons why Trump is a horrible human being with ties to many criminals.

The interview with Dr. Jan Halper-Hayes starts at 2:37:00.

She agrees that the suggestion the general election is potentially rigged is 'crazy', and says Trump has gone "over the top". Then:

"If I could bring in the psychological part of it that's really concerning me. Because I did have Donald fill out a temperament assessment. And just to clarify, temperament is what we're born with, but personality is shaped by our social environment. And I interviewed Donald over 30 years ago for my book "Quiet Desperation: The Truth about Successful Men".

"Newt Gingrich, Laura Ingraham and Ben Carson, who have been his surrogates, are very concerned about his behaviour right now, and I am as well. I think there's an element of him that's truly is psychologically unbalanced, and I feel very guilty for saying this because I'm a Republican, and I want the Republican ticket to win, but there is - Donald is out of control right now, and he's not listening to anyone. "

She says she'll probably leave the presidential ballot blank, but many of her members are resigning from Republicans Overseas, and saying they'll vote for Johnson instead.

What's bizarre is that Halper-Hayes wrote for Breitbart just 2 months ago claiming "his temperament is exactly what our country needs at this critical time in our history" (their emphasis; sorry about linking to Breitbart, but that's where that appeared). In April 2016, in another BBC radio interview (below, starting at 28:20) she seemed conflicted - she was talking about other people resigning, and that Trump "needs to stop being a baby" and is "exceedingly manipulative", but said she'd support the nominee:

Trump, who has courted unprecedented controversy since he began his bid for the US presidency, has had to defend comments in which he attacked the parents of a Muslim soldier US Army Capt Humayun Khan, killed in action in Iraq in 2004.

At the Democratic National Convention he soldier's father, Khizr Khan, had denounced Trump for his pledge to ban Muslims from entering the United States if elected president. Republican figures including Senator John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee has criticised Trump for his attacks on the family.

The son-in-law of Republican firebrand Sarah Palin, Dakota Meyer, who received the Medal of Honor in 2011, has also lashed out at Trump on Twitter.

"If @realDonaldTrump wants to be the Commander in Chief, he needs to act like one. And that cant start until he apologizes to the Khans," Meyer said on the social media platform...........................

Has he spent any time with $carah PayMe? Unblanced is her middle name. Meyer is not very smart, he married the PayMe daughter with all the illigitimate babies.

Palin did seem to have the common sense and decency to not attack families whose son died serving their country. It's a low bar, but she did manage that.

Are people in Europe as horrified by Trump as Democrats are over here? Do they realize what a global threat he is? Just curious as to what the vibe is over there.

as president in Austria.

Where there will be a re-vote.

Le Pen, Farage -- hell the present state of the Tories -- Wilders, the current Polish government, True Finns, Jobbik, Golden Dawn, the post-coup government in Kiev, etc. etc. They're right to be alarmed and dismayed by Trump, but it's not like the phenomenon of a raving nationalist racist neo-populist maniac is foreign to them. And then the same centrist-liberals might yang-yang about Merkel being too kind to the war refugees, etc. etc. So, on the one hand agreeing with this "Europe" and also thinking: fuck their hypocrisy.

Clearly Trump's not the only one who qualifies for a DSM number on the basis of hallucinatory beliefs.
