DNC to Sanders: 'We're Sorry'
Source: NBC News
"On behalf of everyone at the DNC, we want to offer a deep and sincere apology to Senator Sanders, his supporters, and the entire Democratic Party for the inexcusable remarks made over email. These comments do not reflect the values of the DNC or our steadfast commitment to neutrality during the nominating process. The DNC does not -- and will not -- tolerate disrespectful language exhibited toward our candidates. Individual staffers have also rightfully apologized for their comments, and the DNC is taking appropriate action to ensure it never happens again.
"We are embarking on a convention today that thanks to the great efforts of Secretary Clinton, her team, Senator Sanders, his team, and the entire Democratic Party will show a forward-thinking and optimistic vision for America, as compared to the dark and pessimistic vision that the GOP presented last week in Cleveland. Our focus is on electing Hillary Clinton, Tim Kaine and Democrats across the country, thanks to Democratic Party that is strong, unified, and poised for victory in November."

(1,000 posts)The official apology was needed and I am so glad to see no mention of the Russians being at fault for their actions !
It is very telling that there is no support for this statement from those who so strongly support Hillary, DWS, and the DNC.

(15,882 posts)convention aren't missing any meals...nothing to apologize to them for. They are adults and can take care of themselves.
This is the reason - the only god damn reason - your behavior matters. You may have forgotten...
The hurting economy
Joe is one of 8 million unemployed Americans who remain without work despite a hiring surge in recent years.
The hurting economy still exists. Perhaps the most telling sign that the U.S. isn't back to normal is the 44.7 million Americans on food stamps. Joe is one of them, something else he never envisioned in his life.
Before the financial crisis there were only 26.3 million people on food stamps.

(6,344 posts)People have been very upset for months about DWS and the questionable actions of DNC. Protests at the DNC HQ, petitions, mass phone calls, emails, news articles, opinion write-ins etc. Why did they not hear us then?
We have been calling for DWS to step down for months. We have been yelling about the unfair actions of the DNC.
They got caught, is why the actions now. It was business as usual until the proof came out.

(410 posts)It still is. The Hillary loving pundits do seem a bit surprised and more than willing to milk the situation for increased viewership.

(29,251 posts)Which makes it transparently instrumental and so less believably authentic.
And what's more, a genuine apology would include acknowledgement of their other abhorrent biased behaviors during the primaries... that is sorely and conspicuously missing.

(6,344 posts)I wonder if she will lose the primary to Tim on August 30th? I will be following it.
Then, to put more salt on the wound, I heard someone from the DNC downplaying how their subversive actions could not have possibly affected his campaign. As though they had no power or impact. Unbelievable! I feel bad for Bernie. He worked so hard to be kicked like this.
Kick butt in the Senate Bernie!!!

(2,510 posts)An apology crafted to divert attention from the secret collusion between the DNC and the Hillary campaign, to "disrespectful language". WELL DONE, DNC!!!
While the language was deplorable, that isn't the most serious breach revealed.

(4,229 posts)Bernie was pretty much hands off Clinton early on.
All of his money came from small donors.
The Clinton campaign and DNC were running a fairly sophisticated operation against him even colluding with the press.
Yet he still managed to snag a significant portion of the vote.
Imagine what he could have done had the thing been reversed.
Impressive what people can do when they work for it.
He fell short, but someone will learn from his mistakes and pull it off in the near future.
Also it makes me nervous for Clinton. I want to see her win, but a lot of times...when you do sort of underhanded stuff even in politics karma sometimes comes to play.
