John Kasich turned down 'most powerful' VP slot from Trump.

Source: CNN

Donald Trump's son tried to entice John Kasich with a position as the most powerful vice president in history, but he turned it down, multiple sources close to the Ohio governor told CNN Wednesday.

Kasich would have been in charge of all domestic and foreign policy in a Trump White House, Kasich sources said.

But it also is the clearest sign yet that the animosity between both the Kasich and Trump campaigns will likely continue, unhindered as Donald Trump delivers his biggest speech yet Thursday.

Trump denied ever personally asking Kasich to be his running mate in a tweet.

Trump basically asked Kasich to run the country while Trump served as figurehead, but Kasich refused to go along. Kudos to him.

As soon as I heard he told Kasich he would be in charge of foreign affairs and domestic policy, I figured he only wanted to do the fun, easy stuff, and the VP will be in charge of all the stuff you get in trouble with the people for doing. You'd have to be an IDIOT to take that job.

If the party thought he had any chance of winning, they would be all aboard the Trump train. Why do you think all of these Republicans are fleeing for the hills every time someone mentions his name? Do they have integrity and they want to protest this abomination of our democracy? Fuck no! No one wanted to be his VP, no one wants to campaign with him, no one wants to be at his convention because they know he is going to lose badly and they know that just being in the same massive political party as him means they could all be radioactive.

Do you really think that someone like Joni Ernst or Corker would duck for cover when they are mentioned for his VP if they thought they were going to win? I don't care if the polls right now say hes only down by 4 or 5 points. The GOP knows that when the election moves into the late summer/fall that this is going to be a disaster and no one wants to be within 1000 miles of Trump when everything melts down.

Kasich isn't a saint or a good guy that is fighting for what's right. If he thought he had even an outside chance to be the VP and essentially take the role of Dick Cheney and be the real power behind a figurehead, he would do it in a heartbeat. But he knows that Trump has virtually no shot at winning and when the republican base gets off its meth bender, everyone that ever kissed trumps ass is going to be lucky if they can get elected as president of the Scott Baio fan club.

President which means he will likely be turning over the running of the country to his kids. Or turning it over toa VP who was not elected to be President. Once again, Trump will be scamming the nation.

Like they did with Obama, GOP doesn't want to govern. They just want to keep Obama from governing and beat Hillary. It's another scam and the Democrats ought to be saying so. Where is the evidence? Well since when did anyone need any "evidence" to make up stuff about Hillary that gets repeated every day on cable and network news and is now being chanted at the GOP convention?

The journalists reporting on this seems creditable. I just wish they had a tape of the conversation. Trump was smart enough to have his son do his dirty work so he could deny ever having proposed this to Kaisch. But this should be an indication of how Trump intends to govern or not govern if elected.
