Trump campaign blaming ghostwriter Meredith McIver for Melania plagiarism scandal

Source: RawStory

Monday’s Republican convention opened to nominee Donald Trump’s wife Melania’s passionate speech plagiarized from First Lady Michelle Obama‘s 2008 convention speech.

After 24 hours of confusion and the campaign’s resistance to admit to plagiarism, it seems America finally has an answer from the Trump campaign confirming it was plagiarism and that a close friend might be responsible. The New York Times reports Trump’s son-in-law commissioned the speech from speechwriters Matthew Scully and John McConnell but Ms. Trump asked family friend Meredith McIver, who was listed as a co-author on four of Trump’s books including “Think Like A Billionaire.” McIver is a former ballet dancer and English major, but it isn’t clear how much she influenced the speech.

“When Ms. Trump and her staff had finished revising the speech, virtually all that remained from the original was an introduction and a passage that included the phrase ‘a national campaign like no other,'” the New York Times reports.

Ha, knew damn well it would eventually come to this, them finding some convenient scapegoat for Melania's bad decision making and plagiarism. Media makes me sick, they so coddle anyone who has an R behind them. She's been caught red handed lying about having a college degree, but is this airing anywhere at all? NO. If she were a Dem, this would be front page news everywhere, ads would be running about it from the Kochs or Adelsohn. The double std. just sickens me.

McIver actually admitted what was already known that someone included some passages from Michelle Obama's speech in Melania's speech, and she just explained it was her and how it all happened. I just have to say, this is the most inept national campaign I have ever seen in my life. There making the type of mistakes a candidate makes running for city council. And this is the person who wants to run this country, but can't even run an competent campaign.

And yet, they criticize Administration for having trouble instantly confirming whether Benghazi was another protest over a video or something more.

No matter what they say, the offense was blatant and signed with a Rick-roll, surely a safeguard against the Trump's notoriety about failing to pay for work performed.

It must have gotten on there by magic, as it apparently wasn't there on the draft that was given to Mrs. Trump.

Perhaps the HRC campaign did it and wrote it in disappearing ink only to have it reappear later.

Those fucking morons at the clown convention would probably BELIEVE Hillary's campaign really did do it. That is no more far fetched than those bullshit stories about her being responsible for Vince Foster's "murder."

Melania KNEW she was plagiarizing. McIver didn't plagiarize, she just failed to stop Melania from plagiarizing.

Where the fuck is Melania's apology? And Trump's? And Manafort's? Even more important, where's their apology for LYING that it wasn't plagiarism?
