United suspends W.Va. delegate after call for Clinton to be executed

Source: Charleston Gazette-Mail

Delegate Michael Folk, a Berekeley County Republican and commercial pilot who called for the public execution of Hillary Clinton has been suspended by his employer, pending an investigation.

“This pilot has been removed from flying pending our investigation,” United Airlines wrote on its Twitter account Sunday evening. “We are appalled by his threatening comments.”

On Friday afternoon Folk wrote on his Twitter account that Clinton “should be tried for treason, murder, and crimes against the US Constitution... then hung on the Mall in Washington, DC.”

United had previously written that it was looking into Folk’s statement and that it was “appalled by comments advocating harm to anyone.”

I remember how she was leaving Bill because she was really a lesbian (that was during her 2000 bid for the senate - i think)
Vince Foster you mentioned
I know she's probably killed several other people during Whitewater
She gleefully got off a child rapist while an attorney
Ron Brown - shot him and then crashed the plane killing 34 others
Kathleen Wiley's cat (though that's newer -2007)
Hillary practices witchcraft
The cocaine ring she and Bill were running in Arkansas
Hillary's 'praetorian guard' when she was first lady
White House Travel Office
Her links to Italian Communist Antonio Gramsci and how they were going to take over the country
Hillary Clinton set up Rush's drug bust (2006 - still kind of new)
The Clintons consented to the harvesting and selling of HIV- and hepatitis C-positive blood from prison inmates to China

First job, low pay, lousy working conditions, but he was building up hours. He was young and new and after 9/11, he was in a local bar joking about how easy it would be to fly planes into buildings. Next thing he knew, job gone, investigated by the FAA. Poor guy, didn't know what hit him. Good kid, took anything he could to keep flying and ended up OK. He'll never reach the status of this United pilot, but the United pilot just might learn some life lessons about being an asshole.

Obviously, there isn't enough information in your description of your friend's tale of woe, mountain grammy. But from a superficial viewpoint, if he got in trouble for talking about the dangers that airplanes could pose, it's a great irony and a missed opportunity.

Remember how the apologists for the Bush Administration said that no one could have imagined using airplanes as weapons? They put part of the blame for their failures on a lack of imagination, (one of many Bush Administration lies). Yet here was your friend using his imagination to outline the inherent dangers in civilian and commercial aviation!

The FAA and DHS should have hired him as an expert consultant.

Not the smartest kid on the block, but a good soul who wouldn't hurt anyone, and flying air ambulances in remote areas, he's probably saved a bunch of people too. Dreamed of flying for the big carriers, but found happiness in a simpler life. I couldn't be happier for the guy.

It used to be that racists, sexists, and flat earth believing TeaHadists were either ignored, or shamed into silence. I mean, when you say crazy things, you should be embarrassed about it.

Not anymore. Ever since Trump, the worst dregs of society have found their collective voice and feel empowered to promote their insanity in public. They have found their echo chamber, and unfortunately, they are armed not just with their bibles and six packs, but their guns.

Trump has made this possible by being the lunatic that he is, and by showing others that it is absolutely fine to insult mexicans, arabs, science, liberals, women, the poor, and the educated.

Good for United. Now can this jerk's ass. Maybe then he would find something to be embarrassed about in his crazy statement.

because they don't want some off-the-wall comment reflecting badly on the company, even if it appeared on a Facebook page or some other source unrelated to the company. That's especially true of an airline, many of whose employees not only have direct contact with the public but are responsible for their safety. In this case, even though the remarks were not made in this asshat's capacity as an employee of United, I have no doubt they fell within the company's prohibition against material on social media that would cast it in a bad light.

I can't figure out why people haven't learned that what you say on Facebook or such outlets goes everywhere and has the potential to make them look like idiots, or worse. Yes, you have the Constitutional right to say any damn stupid thing (meaning, of course, only that the government can't shut you up), but you also get to suffer the consequences.

May this knob spend the rest of his aviation career flying discount charters to Las Vegas.

Come to think of it, he may no longer have an aviation career; the FAA requires a person to be "of good moral character" to hold an airline transport certificate (ATP).

that includes some psychological testing. It helps screen out the truly disturbed but they can't get everybody who's just an asshole. I used to work for an airline. Most pilots are pretty sane and stable but there are definitely some assholes.

Why do Repugs think that ordinary discourse rules don't apply to them, why do they think it's OK to threaten hanging when that's not even legal? I know there are a few good people that are Repugs, I'm friends with one, but most of them just seem like they have no understanding or caring for societal norms and think they are above the law. BTW - my Repug friend isn't voting for Drumpf, she does have some common sense, uncommon amongst Repugs.
