Ted Cruz, Republican presidential hopeful, taps Carly Fiorina as vice-president
Source: The Associated Press
Texas Senator Ted Cruz introduced former rival Carly Fiorina as his running mate in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, calling her an "extraordinary leader."
Cruz made the formal announcement Wednesday afternoon in Indianapolis.
"Carly is bright, knowledgeable, brings great financial expertise and she's a woman," said Gary Aminoff, the Los Angeles County co-chair of the Cruz campaign.
Cruz is trying to generate momentum for his struggling campaign. Republican front-runner Donald Trump swept primaries in five eastern states on Tuesday.

(23,421 posts)"Tapping," as in having intercourse. I don't know the origin - I just read it's from tapping a keg of beer.

Egads, could he be any more transparent trying to hope he'll get more women's votes this way?

(13,616 posts)OK, do not throw turds at me, I am givign soem exmaples to make a point, not that I would not vote against every single one of them.
BUT:
Cruz could have picked Palin, then at least they could have done the whole sincere (but still stupid) "you betcha" remarks about God and country.
He could have picked Susannah Martinez, who was at least a Mexican-American that would have seriously have dents ion the Southwest.
Hell, he could have picked Ann Coulter, who would have made him much more Palatable to the Trump voters.
And let us not talk about Nikki Haley,
but no, he not only had to pick a person with less experience than a dogcatcher in office,
whose tenure as CEO HP is still staggering away from, but
someone who was a former political rival.
This is shallow.
If Cleveland anoints this DOU, Hillary should rip into Carly as a copy of her, as vapid as some teen clone trying to be a madonna or Lady gaga.
