(1,134 posts)Kidding. I actually eat a lot of vegetables, and was a bit worried. Looks like I'm good though.
Anyone know how this works? Like if I had a freezer with a hundred bucks worth of frozen veggies, would I get that money back if they are recalled?

(5,477 posts)We had a phone message from Costco yesterday notifying us. Their records showed that we had recently purchased items on the recall list. I'll take them back this coming week. I believe the Costco brans was "Organic by Nature".

(1,219 posts)I rarely buy frozen veggies but had a craving for peas. Yes, most people would crave something else....Going back to only eating what are locally grown, in season vegetables. Fortunately I have room for a garden. Wish everyone did.

(5,477 posts)The problem comes in when you don't exercise extreme sanitation and handling precautions. Did you stir them with a spoon before they were hot enough to kill the bacteria? What else did that spoon touch afterwards? When you opened the bag did your fingers touch anything? Are you *sure*?
Not worth the risk of any cross-contamination - they'll give a refund.

(16,402 posts)[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]Sometimes I think we're more than a bit too germ phobic, especially considering that bacteria are everywhere. Low-dose exposure actually helps build a healthier immune system (like letting kids play in the dirt). However, the recall is worth it for vulnerable people.

(90 posts)Blaming this on an anti-organic conspiracy is like blaming it on the CIA trying to kill hippies...
Could it possibly that Big Organic cares as much about money and food safety as Big Not-Organic? (It's funny because they're both run by the same people...)

(53,235 posts)Also, re the CIA and hippies. You really believe they only tracked them?

I bring up the hippies bit because I think it's far more likely than Big Ag trying to kill off a high profit margin item.

At this stage of life, what does it matter anyway...
