Oklahoma lawmakers approve bill to revoke licenses of abortion doctors

By Heide Brandes

April 22, 2016

OKLAHOMA CITY (Reuters) - An Oklahoma bill that could revoke the license of any doctor who performs an abortion has headed to the governor, with opponents saying the measure in unconstitutional and promising a legal battle against the cash-strapped state if it is approved.

In the Republican-dominated legislature, the state's House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved a Senate bill late on Thursday. Governor Mary Fallin, a Republican, has not yet indicated whether she will sign it.

Under the bill, doctors who perform abortions would risk losing their medical licenses. Exemptions would be given for those who perform the procedure for reasons including protecting the mother or removing a miscarried fetus.

"This is our proper function, to protect life,” said Senator Nathan Dahm, the Republican who authored the bill.

I was born there and left at the age of 4. I lived in Cleveland from the ages of 13-24. So, when asked where I'm from, I say Cleveland. God, I miss that town.

They plan to do what they do regardless of federal law. It does not apply to them. Only God's law applies to them.

Not to mention undue burden placed on patient and physician. Of course it goes without saying that they are violating Federal Law in several ways.

I don't know if the Governor has any wits about Federal Law but this would so be the wrong statute to sign. It is just possible it may even violate the State Constitution as well.

Dumber than soup are the legislators who passed this. Ugly doesn't come close to describing their souls.

You would be surprised to hear what some old men talk about around the corner table at a Daylight Donuts. Tighten your tinfoil...

Zika is a ploy by liberals to encourage abortion.
Liberals want to scare conservative women into voting for Hillary.
Zika began in a country over-ran by queers and queens. God sent it to America because we are going to allow them to use the bathroom with our children.
God took away the babies brains because liberals like to suck them out and sell them.
Zika was engineered by liberals to distract from the real issues - like Obama selling America to the Muslims and Hillarys plan to confiscate our guns.

Their plans? Have some more donuts and change the subject to "that stupid socialist Jew".

A new federal law is needed...

This law would automatically remove the sponsor(s) of any legislation that is found to be unconstitutional by the courts, from office and ban them from ever running again. Lawmakers removed under this provision would have the right to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court; their sole defense would be to argue that the law is indeed constitutional.

This provision would apply to both State Legislatures and the U.S. Congress.

When any elected official takes their oath of office, they swear to and promise to uphold and defend the laws of the constitution of the United States
When they write and pass laws that are blatantly and knowingly unconstitutional, they should be removed from office

How is that financially prudent? They must know this law is unconstitutional. I think it's pandering to the base, nothing more.
