CTU: Nearly 90 percent of teachers vote to authorize strike

The Chicago Teachers Union says nearly 90 percent of its members have voted to authorize a strike, far more than the required 75 percent.

(3,888 posts)the strike lasted two weeks. teachers received much support from students, parents and the community but corporate influences in demanding that teachers lose security in their jobs is strong.
i hope that these teachers are prepared for a battle.
they will get my support in any case.

(482 posts)They have not even heard the decision from the arbiter. I guess they were not expecting good news......or trying to influence the decision. Either way, it could get ugly.
