Lawsuit Alleges Voter Suppression in Arizona’s Presidential Preference Election
Source: Phoenix New Times
"John Brakey, co-founder of AUDIT-AZ (Americans United for Democracy, Integrity, and Transparency in Elections) filed a lawsuit in Maricopa County Superior Court against election officials, both accusing them of misconduct and demanding a partial recount of ballots.
As New Times has written previously, Maricopa Countys attempt to save money by drastically cutting the number of polling stations for the March 22 election totally backfired. Thousands waited more than two hours to vote some as long as five hours and the lines at some polling stations still were wrapped around the block as the first results trickled in at 8 p.m.
Whats more, hundreds of people showed up to the polls assuming they were registered as a voter in one party only to be told they were werent, and therefore they could only fill out a provisional ballot according to Dianne Post who worked at a polling station in Phoenix and filed an affidavit in Brakeys lawsuit, this disproportionally happened to Democratic voters."
The election debacle prompted widespread national criticism, and as allegations of voter suppression began getting thrown around, public election officials accepted blame and promised this would never happen again.

(1,054 posts)They also pulled this voter fraud in WA state. And the two voters who's papers were in the packet when we got it, to add to ours, were absentee voters who votes had been changed to Clinton. I know because I called them to try to get both of them to be her delegate and both refused and said they'd never vote for her and they didn't vote for her absentee, they had written in undecided. They didn't know why the paper I had found in our packet, said they did.

(109,009 posts)The county most affected by this is heavily Latino, and she did much better than Bernie among Latino voters.

(58,458 posts)that she has been so silent on this issue of massive voter suppression.
It seems that Bernie; has been a more forceful advocate for Hillary supporters; that have been unjustly disenfranchised than her.

(58,458 posts)on the issue of massive voter suppression which took place in Arizona, you know civil rights and all that stuff.

(9,505 posts)But Hillary's reluctance to jump head down into a pool of shit is the surest sign of her guilt, no?

(9,505 posts)So let me make sure I have you on the record: Hillary did not mastermind Arizona, did she?
I just want every Sandernista who implied she did to hear from you. You don't mind, do you? Because they were questioning my personal integrity when I suggested they are full of shit.
Uncle Joe
(58,458 posts)if we want to talk about Hillary's behind the scenes machinations in regards to Latinos in Honduras being disenfranchised from their democracy, that would be a different story.

Getting back to this thread, though, do you anticipate any evidence of Hillary rigging the Arizona elections to come up in the future? I may sound a bit insecure badgering you like this, but I don't want to keep hearing any more crap from the loony conspiracy theorists on this board.
Uncle Joe
(58,458 posts)Hillary rigging the Arizona elections, I have no idea and wouldn't be surprised one way or the other.
I will say this however not necessarily in regards to this particular issue but in regards to conspiracies in general, not all of them are "theories," they do exist or we wouldn't have the word in the dictionary.

(9,505 posts)I too would not be surprised one way or the other, but I would not pass judgement until I know one way or the other.
Let this be a lesson to those who make fools of themselves passing premature judgements!

(58,458 posts)of coverage from the national corporate media conglomerates on television regarding the massive voter suppression that took place in Arizona.
I've seen nary a mention of it, CNN posted about it a couple of times on the Internet but viewing national T.V. it's as if it never happened.
I would think in this day and age 2016, civil rights and all, this should be a major story, but they have been deafeningly quiet about it.
That's the curious thing.
Cheers to you.

(9,505 posts)but you know that news of voter fraud cannot possibly compete with rehashing the latest Kardasian gossip for the twentieth time. It's nothing personal, just business. They have to make their billions too.
I've got a secret I can tell you. Back in the old country, we used to tune in to Voice of America to find out what's happening next door. I do the same thing here. I tune into foreign news sources. Gives you a much more accurate picture of what's going on next door. BBC America is pretty good. As a general rule, publicly funded sources are more informed and more informative than commercial media, whether they call themselves conservative or liberal. I only watch American media for entertainment.
