Trump extends his lead among Republicans with 42 percent support

Source: Reuters

Celebrity real estate developer Donald Trump has extended his lead nationally over Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Ohio Governor John Kasich for the Republican presidential nomination, according to the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll.

The national online poll from April 4-8 showed that 42 percent of Republicans support Trump, compared with 32 percent for Cruz and 20 percent for Kasich.

Trump has topped the poll of Republican voters since July, though his lead narrowed considerably in recent weeks as Trump retweeted unflattering pictures of Cruz's wife and his campaign manager was charged with battery in an incident involving a reporter at a campaign event.

Meanwhile, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton led Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont for the Democratic nomination. The poll showed that 53 percent of Democrats support Clinton and 43 percent support Sanders.

"Vote for the crook, not the fascist."

While each of the two Republican front-runners seem to embody both vices, I can't help but suspect that at least Trump's shtick is mostly that: an act. Cruz, on the other hand, comes off as really dangerous.

I discuss this with my buddies all the time. Cruz is a dangerous nut who will lead us back to the dark ages.. Trump on the other hand is a bag of mystery. I don't believe a thing out of his mouth and have no real indication of his views but I do know he is crook

$60 million (in 1978 dollars!) to turn this:

Into this:

Yes, the Commodre was abandoned at the time. But besides earning him the undying hatred of New York's architecture buffs, the Grand Hyatt deal arguably was what touched off the habit of financing private developments with public dollars.

Having said that, I'd still take him over that Greg Stillson-style psychopath Cruz.

Maybe he can scare the Dems into actually getting out and voting. Voter turn out among our side is always really low. We just need to be inspired. Trump can inspire people to run away from him, and hopefully into a voting booth.
