Arab coalition air strikes kill 40 northeast of Yemen capital: residents

Source: Reuters

Air strikes by an Arab coalition fighting Iranian-allied Houthi forces in Yemen hit a market northeast of the capital Sanaa on Saturday, killing 40 people, residents said.

The strikes at Nehm district in Sanaa province also wounded 30, they said, adding that most of the casualties were civilians.

The Saudi-led alliance is fighting the Houthis and forces loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh in a bid to restore the internationally recognized government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The United Nations says nearly 6,000 people have been killed in the fighting, which began after the Houthis advanced on the southern port city of Aden, where Hadi had been based. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced.

Not to worry, the mass media will simply continue not to cover any of the war crimes done by an ally with all that oil.

I wonder how much less death and destruction there would be in the world if major world players like the US, Russia, China, UK, France, etc.. stopped selling so many war toys to everyone. Sure those countries would be able to develop indigenous weapons systems, but that's expensive and many wouldn't be able to afford to have has large of a military as they have now. Not saying there would be peace, but it might be less bloody. Then again, a large number of people people with rifles and simple weapons can cause lots of carnage too.

for Yemen, over there the local fighters have to die at the hands of the Saudis, Sudanese, Colombians, Qataris and whatever mercenary fighters they are not using to subjugate that country. A since the Saudis are doing Ok with their invasion, the US would sit silently and only worry about the Syrians and their friends killing foreign terrorists aka moderate beheaders
