Georgia State students say they were bounced from Clinton rally over "Black Lives Matter" sign
Source: Atlanta Journal Constitution
I was on my phone and when I looked up Ashona was gone, Mwanda said. She wasnt loud. She wasnt chanting. I just looked up and she was gone. A few moments later, someone came for me.
The students said staffers and men with green military-type uniforms and bullet proof vests took the students in the hall and, according to both of them, told them that their signs and messages were inappropriate and that they would have to leave.
Elizabeth Espy of the APD said the students were escorted out by plain clothes officers. She said the men in uniform were members of the Atlanta Proactive Enforcement Interdiction (APEX) Unit.
I wasnt being violent or disruptive, Husbands said. I am an undecided voter. Hillary Clinton says that black lives matter, but when she speaks about the black community, she kind of glosses over it. I wanted her to see the sign and look at me. I wanted her to say something to win me over. The ironic thing is that the staffer gave me the sign in the first place. If they hadnt given it to us, I would not have written it down.

The orders to eject these students had to have come from the Clinton campaign or event staff. Journalists should follow up and view the police reports to find exactly who requested they be kicked out.

The mission of the Atlanta Proactive Enforcement Interdiction (A.P.E.X.) Unit is to identify violent crime patterns utilizing analytical data. To deploy and prevent violent crime and arrest the most violent criminals who are involved in this behavior.

She's obviously not too concerned about convincing commoners with all this elitist behavior... That it's escalating in disgust really makes me think she's more concerned with impressing Trump supporters or something... Hmmm?
Any scandals needing a nice smokescreen from her firewall?

(45,806 posts)I'm not Black, but I am also angry with the way so many Blacks have bee very mistreated. all across the Country. To hear that this happened at a Hillary campaign stop reminds me of how the goons kept all the protesters away from GWB! They st u fenced in areas, far from his speeches for all the protesters, and even made3 sure HE didn't have to see them. I really never believed that would happen with any Dem candidate, much less Hillary who's supposed to have spent her entire life fighting for fairness and racial equality. I'm very disappointed. I say we try to make sure this info gets spread all over Ga. because we vote on March 1st, which is only FOUR DAYS AWAY!

(1,539 posts)These must be the super predators that Hillary talked about.... because they are young blacks. Just imagine how frightened Hilllary and her elite white supporters are, when Ashley showed up to ask for an apology. NO ONE ever questions Hillary, especially a young black woman.

(7,006 posts)Are these look like very nice Young Women -- who happen to be African-American - with a sign that does not in the least look threatening -- are the folks that Hillary believes should be "Brought to Heel" by the Secret Service?
But On To Better News -- The Niece of Rosa Parks - Rhea McCauley is strongly supporting Bernie Sanders for the upcoming March 8 Michigan Primary AND had very kind words for Erica Garner -- the Daughter of the Late Eric Garner who has been harassed on Twitter by some Hillary Supporters for her endorsement of Bernie Sanders.
She said Ms. Garner stands in the shadow of her Aunt Rosa Parks, who would have in Ms. McCauley opinion, supported Bernie Sanders also.

(10,345 posts)last time I checked, BLM didn't want anyone to die or suffer eternal damnation. they just want to be heard. they just want society to stop turning a blind eye to racial injustice.

(613 posts)I got blocked from a Hilary Clinton thread here simply for challenging the content of a post. I wasn't rude, didn't call names, nothing like that. I simply challenged the validity of their claims.
Clinton clearly has issues with critical review, and responds like a GOPer.

MLK's message is so much more radical and clear-headed than most people think. His words perfectly capture what we're seeing today when it comes to how the "white moderates" and mostly-white corporate media treat black people when they don't know their place and dare get in the way of "white moderates' timetable" as to how and when changes should take place and by whom.
Like Ms. Williams, and these young women, or Melissa Harris-Perry (who, I guess, talked too much about BLM movement to the point of sounding strident to MSNBC management) -all of them being hissed and thrown out of sight for disrupting their "negative peace." That's how they keep their "order," I guess. Rather than "justice."
"I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"
Hillary Clinton might as well be saying that to these women.

(6,007 posts)I don't understand why so many are fooled by the Clintons. It's like we all wonder how poor people can ever vote Republican, because they are voting against their own interests.
Same with the Clintons, why would anyone who is not in the 1% vote for them? They talk one thing and behind the scenes do the opposite.
Example . . . Wages have remained stagnant since the 80s. 8 years of Bill Clinton did nothing for that and neither did 8 years of Obama. Working Americans got the same wages. They had 16 years to DO SOMETHING, but they didn't. Oh, for sure, the rich got richer and the corporations too. THEY got help but WE didn't. If you think another corporate Democrat (read Hillary Clinton) is really going to change that, you are living in a fantasy world. The facts are all there, a vote for Hillary is a vote AGAINST yourself and your family (unless you are the 1%)

(45,319 posts)exclusive license? Not shocked at all, I am old enough to remember the way Bill Clinton treated ACT UP protesters who disrupted his events as candidate, protesters who in some cases died the same month Bill took office, terminally ill people who bravely stood up only to be shouted at and finger pointed by Bill.

Time to pull a Sanders, and directly engage with BLM, and maybe bring a BLM veteran on board to a visible position, and with access to Secretary Clinton.
Needless to say, this doesn't end with hauling away BLM protesters.
