NEW YORK -- Yoko Ono was hospitalized Friday evening after suffering a possible stroke, sources told CBS New York late Friday.
Ono, who turned 83 this month, was taken from her home at the Dakota on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and rushed to Mount Sinai West Hospital, a police source told CBS New York's Jessica Schneider.
She was unconscious when she was taken to the hospital at 9:05 p.m., the FDNY told the station.

(14,691 posts)Roosevelt Hospital when John Lennon was brought there Dec. 8, 1980. I hope she recovers. I'm a Beatles fan and don't have any negative feelings about her, unlike some others who still wear t-shirts to Beatle fan conventions that say "imagine there's no Yoko."

(8,515 posts)he made his life so much better...he was lost in alcohol for awhile, Yoko knew she had to let him go.. and he did straighten himself out.
Besides that, I feel Yoko came along at the right time for John. he left the Beatles because he wanted more in life.. She came along and his life became more complete.. The fact that the beatles split up as early as they did is the primary reason they are considered ultimate icons in the rock and roll world.

(9,269 posts)I agree. Was totally obsessed with the Beatles as a kid and when they split, everyone was shocked and horrified. I remember thinking that the inevitable just happened, and if it wasn't Yoko, John would have left anyway.

(628 posts)Ono's son Sean just tweeted, "Hey guys it was only rumors from press: was NOT a stroke, just dehydration/tired. She is FINE. Thank you everyone for your concern."
Why does the press blowing something out of proportion not surprise me?
LiberalElite
(14,691 posts)Yoko herself said she thought she was having a stroke when she called 911. Who the #*@(! knows. But then, "Yoko Ono has a cold" isn't much of a clickbait headline.

NEW YORK Yoko Ono was hospitalized in New York City for flu-like symptoms, but is on the mend and the 83-year-old artist-singer should be released this weekend, her representative said.
Ono went to the hospital on the advice of her doctor, and media reports that she had had a stroke were not true, Elliott Mintz told The Associated Press on Friday.
Ono is the widow of John Lennon of the Beatles. The couples son, Sean Ono Lennon, also tamped down reports of a stroke. He said on Twitter that his mother was dehydrated and tired.
Only stroke @yokoono had was a Stroke of Genius! Shes really fine, he tweeted. Thanks for all the well wishes!
Mintz said Ono likely will be released from the hospital Saturday. It was nothing, he added.
