White House Considers Nevada Governor Sandoval For Supreme Court.

Source: Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The White House is considering Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval of Nevada as a possible nominee to the Supreme Court, two people familiar with the process said Wednesday.

The nomination of a Republican would be seen as an attempt by President Barack Obama to break the Senate GOP blockade of any of his choices. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has said his 54-member GOP caucus is opposed to holding confirmation hearings or vote on Obama's pick, insisting that the choice rests with the next president.

The officials declined to be named because they weren't authorized to speak publicly.

Mari St. Martin, Sandoval's communications director, said Wednesday that the governor hasn't been contacted by the White House.

"Neither Gov. Sandoval nor his staff has been contacted by or talked to the Obama administration regarding any potential vetting for the vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court," she said.

Assuming Bernie or Hillary win though they will probably have a chance to replace atleast 2 justices on the court, maybe even 3.

It's just a political maneuver on Obama's part. The Republicans in Congress say they'll block anyone Obama nominates. Now he has made them have to talk about blocking a fellow Republican.

and passed laws as governor meant to break the back of alternative energy industries such as solar and wind in order to prop up big gas and big oil. He's to the goddamned right of Roberts in terms of judicial philosophy too.

If Barack Obama nominates that clown, I'm going to lose my shit. It will be proof positive, along with the continued membership of the Clintons in the Democratic party that the Democrats have fully abandoned Democratic values and constituencies.

They have messed up this country enough. It's not just Citizens United. It's their interpretations of the Bill of Rights.

No Democratic president should stoop so low as to nominate a Republican for the Supreme Court. Leave it 4 to 4 and see how the Republicans like that.

rejected. The 4-4 Supreme Court will remain, until, hopefully, Sanders will win.

Sandoval is also pro-death penalty at a time when the future of the United States being the only Western democracy to retain that barbaric practice probably lies in the balance and whether the states may continue to kill inmates using secret drugs most certainly lies in the balance.

I hope this is not true.

The voters elected you, a Democrat with the expectation that you would fill court vacancies with Democrats. Stand up to the Republicans and nominate a qualified liberal Democrat. And if the GOP refuses to confirm that nominee our new Democratic President will make the nomination next year.

He's already made some good Federal judicial decisions, they held through the supreme court. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_J._Watford

The Senate confirmed Watford on May 21, 2012 in a 61–34 vote; he received his commission on May 22, 2012.[12][13]

Watford authored the decision of the Ninth Circuit's en banc decision in City of Los Angeles v. Patel (2014). In that case, the court struck down, 7-4, a Los Angeles city ordinance authorizing police to conduct surprise inspections of hotel and motel guest registries without obtaining the owners' consent or a search warrant. Watford, writing for the court, held that the ordinance violated the Fourth Amendment.[14][15][16] The following year, the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed the decision in a 5-4 vote

First, we'll start off by eliminating any consideration of

How's that? Do we have a deal?
