House GOP Subpoenas 3 Groups in Planned Parenthood Probe

A special House panel investigating Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers has issued its first three subpoenas, the Republican chairman of the committee said Tuesday.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., said she'd subpoenaed documents from three groups she said are withholding information. They are StemExpress, a company that supplies fetal tissue from abortion clinics to researchers, and the University of New Mexico and Southwestern Women's Options, which perform abortions.

In a statement, Blackburn said information from the organizations "is critical to providing us with answers to questions the American people are asking."

Illinois Rep. Jan Schakowsky, top Democrat on the investigative panel, called the subpoenas unjustifiable and abusive. Schakowsky said Republicans want to build a database of patients, doctors and researchers that would risk their privacy and safety.

The republicans walk around making there taxpayer pay check (Blackburn $174,000) and say they want the government out of peoples lives and then they turn right around and do stuff like this----------------resign----------------because of this................you are a total embarrassment.................... what have you done for your constituents--------------apparently not much, and then you talk in your tongue of hypocrisy, while children and woman are not getting needed health care from Planned Parenthood and then you turn right around and attack ---------------again----------------------- resign, you are nothing more than a grandstanding right wing hypocrite

6. Here is the question Americans want answered:

Why can't Republicans mind their own business? If a woman decides to have an abortion, it's her business. If she wishes to donate fetal tissue, that's her business. The continual witch hunt of Planned Parenthood accomplishes only one thing - more unwanted pregnancies resulting in more abortions after necessary funding is cut and birth control is unaffordable to many.
