Saudi’s decision to send troops in Syria ‘final’

Source: Al Arabiya

Saudi’s decision to send troops to Syria in an attempt to bolster and toughen efforts against militants is “final,” the spokesman of the Saudi-led coalition force in Yemen announced on Thursday.

Brig. Gen. Ahmed Al-Assiri, said that Riyadh is “ready” and will fight with its U.S.-led coalition allies to defeat ISIS militants in Syria, however, he said Washington is more suitable to answer questions on further details about any future ground operations.

“We are representing Saudi’s [decision] only” in sending troops, he said.

He also sent a message to Iran, saying that if Tehran is serious in fighting ISIS, then it must stop supporting “terrorism” in Syria or Yemen.

I think Saudi ground troops (vs Isis) will slow a lot of the random bombing & may even stop it. Sunlei Feb 2016 #8

can't even defeat the Houthis in Yemen (the poorest Gulf country) with all of the sophisticated military hardware they've purchased from the US, so what makes them think they stand a chance in Syria?

The Saudi-backed terrorists in Syria are getting their asses handed to them so now they're threatening all-out open war against Syria.

What's the reaction in DC going to be when Russia bombs our ally Saudi Arabias troops? This is starting to really get concerning and I hope we can stay out of it as much as possible. There are no winners in this war.

couldn't fight their way out of wet paper bag.

They have already lost 10 warships to Yemen.
Yemen has no navy BTW.

Or are they just going to fund ISIS and just do maneuvers with their forces?
This is the Saudi's playing both sides of the conflict.

Perhaps we can even pull out our USA military on the ground and let Saudi Military take over those ground adviser roles.
