DWS to New Hampshire: No Democratic Debate for You

Source: Sunshine State News

You didn't really think Debbie Wasserman Schultz was off the hook, did you? This is a Democratic National Committee chairwoman who has a job getting out of her own way.

So, it isn't surprising DWS crushed cohosts MSNBC and the New Hampshire Union Leader by telling them Tuesday that an additional debate in New Hampshire ahead of the early-voting state's primary is pretty much out of the question.

"We have no plans to sanction any further debates before the upcoming First in the Nation caucuses and primary, but will reconvene with our campaigns after those two contests to review our schedule," Wasserman Schultz said in a statement, referring to the early-voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire. "Our three major candidates are already scheduled to appear on the same stage next week for the New Hampshire Democratic Party dinner on February 5th."

I Beg to DifferThe New Hampshire Union Leader announced Tuesday it was set to partner with MSNBC to host a Democratic debate Feb. 4, just five days before the state's primary, CNN reports. Joseph McQuaid, the publisher of the Union Leader, said it would be the first time in 32 years that the people of the Granite State would not have a Democratic debate before heading to the polls.

So what? They can have the debate and then go on to have all the debates the want with other sponsors. I am sure the media would be there and I know that there are a lot of groups that would sponsor more debates, sanctioned or not. I say of for it. Bernie needs to stand up and show he is not afraid of more debates, and O'Malley and Clinton have already agreed. This crap about Bernie not wanting to upset the DNC is crap. Hell he filed a lawsuit on them earlier, and I would thing that pissed them off. He, and his supported, keep saying the DNC is no plaint fair with him, so why not join the other two for this debate?

How about to show Hillary that what goes around comes around. When he was pressing for more debates, she and her crony DWS shot him down.

Now Hillary needs more debates, so the shoe is on the other foot.

Hillary and DWS played the "sanctioned debates only card" and now it has bitten Hillary where it hurts.

Clinton Calls on Sanders to Join Democratic Debate

by Alex Seitz-Wald

ADEL, Iowa - Hillary Clinton called on Bernie Sanders to join a proposed Democratic debate next week in New Hampshire, telling MSNBC's Chris Matthews that she is "anxious" to make the debate happen.

"I'm ready for the debate, and I hope Sen. Sanders will change his mind and join us," she said in the interview, which will air on "Hardball" Wednesday night. "I think the DNC and the campaigns should be able to work this out. I've been for, you know, for a long time, that I'd be happy to have more debates, and I hope we can get this done."

Asked if she wanted the Democratic National Committee to sanction the debate, Clinton replied, "I would like the chairman of the parties and the campaigns to agree we can debate in New Hampshire next week."

NBC and the New Hampshire Union Leader newspaper on Tuesday proposed sponsoring a debate Feb. 4, which would fall outside the original debate schedule sanctioned by the DNC.

Clinton and Martin O'Malley, the third candidate in the race, quickly said they would be open to joining, but Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said his candidate was not interested in an unsanctioned debate.

His Lordship, the Chosen One will rule forever
Haven't you been following your reich wing, hysterical, talking points

Just because his attempt at setting off a nuclear device in Charleston Harbor (stupid reich wing meme from 3 years ago) didn't happen -- because of those courageous generals who steadfastly opposed him, doesn't mean he won't try again.

Obama apparently has a secret plan to seize full control of the government.
Which I find fascinating because the conservaloons claim he's not very bright and all the military (except for a few) hate him and would rise up against him.
But... that's conspiraworld for you

In the SOTU, DWS sat there with a sour expression the entire evening (or at least every time the camera panned over to her). Made me wonder if she's been under pressure to resign for some time already. .

At some point I heard Jennifer Granholm's name being suggested as a replacement - boy she would be terrific- and certainly a vast improvement over DWS.

I really liked her on the political shows. Strong, ready to stand up, and could debate and get interviews back to the issues. Now she just a shill for the establishment.

This is what I fear about Hillary as President.

Obama is a good man but after the Repugs fought him from day one, when every President gets 100 days to make some of his most heartfelt changes/set out his goals, he didn't fight back. And then it went on for another two years. We all know Washington is corrupt but how do they control these guys so quick? Are they that greedy for power? Speaking tours afterwords? Selling out 350 million people for a guaranteed $500,000 a year for life? How do you live with that?

I always thought Obama wasn't ready for Washington politics but he would make a heck of a lot better President than Romney ala Jimmy Carter. They just go after the people that want to do good and whatever they threaten must be bad. If you run for public office, you must think you have a pretty clean slate because you know this is coming.

Sanders knows Washington and clearly is going against the grain but must know something we don't because he is not giving in. Or better yet, He is a true leader!

Hillary walking around saying "I want a debate, why don't you want to come to the Debate Bernie"

This just makes it look like Bernie is 'aferd of debating the chosen one'

Hillary knows GD well that if she and O'Malley debate, that DWS will ultimately relinquish on her stupid unsanctioned debate rule, and they can still have more debates.

So, Bernie looks like a fool by not going to the unsanctioned NH debate, only to find out that DWS was never going to enforce her stupid 'unsanction debate banishment'.

Bernie can't win either way.

If he shows up for the unsanctioned one, I would applaud him, but I think he wants to play by the rules as they are set forth. He believes in following rules, imagine that.
