Angry Bavarian politician takes bus full of refugees to Merkel

Source: Reuters

An irate local politician from Germany's southern state of Bavaria took a bus carrying 31 refugees to Chancellor Angela Merkel's office in Berlin on Thursday as a protest against her open-door refugee policy.

The Syrians, escorted by police, arrived after a 550-kilometre trip outside Merkel's office, where a dozen German protesters, unconnected with them, were chanting "Merkel must go" in protest at her line on immigration.

Peter Dreier, head of the southeastern town of Landshut, acted on a threat he made to Merkel last year when he said his municipality could no longer cope with the number of arrivals.

"I think that we have to ensure the humane treatment of these refugees," Dreier said upon his arrival in the capital, traveling on the bus with the refugees. "On this scale and within such a short time we simply can't guarantee that any more."

Dreier eventually paid for hotel rooms for all of the refugees after finding out Berlin couldn't accommodate them immediately either.

Dump the problem on her doorstep. Make her see the extent of it.
Thats all I will say. Don't want to be alerted on.

clusterf**k this was going to turn out to be. What was she thinking? Was she intentionally trying to destabilize her own country?

For you see, Germany must always make amends for the holocaust. I am sure if she had rejected refugees, there would be people saying she was causing a "holocaust" of refugee victims.

multi-generational guilt. I'm not responsible for what my ancestors did. Merkel is not responsible for the crimes of Hitler. Obama isn't responsible for the Trail of Tears.
She needs to deal with the problem at hand, with her primary focus on doing what's best for her country and it's people.
