Rick Snyder apologized to the City of Flint Tuesday for the Flint drinking water crisis

Source: Detroit Free Press

Rick Snyder apologized to the City of Flint Tuesday for the Flint drinking water crisis that has left children poisoned by lead and announced he has accepted to resignation of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Director Dan Wyant.

Snyder said in a news release there will be other personnel changes at DEQ and the moves he announced Wednesday are among the "initial steps" he has taken to assure the safety of Flint residents, with more action to come.

“I want the Flint community to know how very sorry I am that this has happened," Snyder said. "And I want all Michigan citizens to know that we will learn from this experience, because Flint is not the only city that has an aging infrastructure

The governor, who had previously stood by his DEQ director amid the controversy, said,

"Dan Wyant has offered his resignation, and I’ve determined that it’s appropriate to accept it."

The asshole governor is responsible, and he should resign.
This is drinking water that is at stake. And Snyder approved all this Oh, so the buck does not stop with the gov, but with an appointee, who he supported till today..And most everything he has said had supported this rotten system even though there were those who warned him about this.. Here is an earlier link on how the state and the head poisoner ignored problems..from Dec 21, with other links as far back as September..those associated links, prove the damn state didn't give a shit about this problem.

Furthere, it most be noted here that ... clean Detroit water for Flint existed... before Snyder and his people brought about this change.......again..there was no problem before the change that the state wanted, and problems developed almost immediately afterwards. (as discussed at this link)..They should be put in jail..or better yet, forced to drink that shit the rest of their lives..that is the governor and his fucking team.!!!!!

Lead poisoning? Are you kidding me? You didn't adequately test your new water source before switching? OMG...I hope the tests on the children are not too severe...I hope there will not be a lot of negative health effects over the years, because of this.

I doubt it would go through. Still, people should try. Hell this is drinking water, clean from Detroit for years. and other stories say that General Motors stopped using the Flint water very early on this experiment, cause it might hurt the manufacturing process..GM was worried about making cars, and the governor was not worried about the people in Flint...and why is that????

I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of kickback for the Governor and his friends to switch the water from Detroit clean water to some filthy polluted river that was noticed almost immediately..

That is how real dirty political crap works. kickbacks and deals. Now if you are clean..you don't do it, and that includes all politicians...But if you are inherently evil, like this asshole, who helped this to happen, then you look behind the curtain to see the dirt and filth. and in this case it was in the drinking water which the governor promoted and his people pushed...I remember hearing a certain crook who said, "We have know knowledge of the break in at Watergate".. And I must be honest, there have been democratic crooks too.
But this water thing, goes beyond almost anything. It is ruining a functioning system.. It was clean and some kind of deal, made it filthy. POISON!!!

Who is behind that and how did that happen and why was there so much push to change over...fucking shit...................

I watched the reports on Maddow and got the impression that the lead poisoning was brought to Snyder's attention well before her report, but Snyder did nothing about it. This seems to call for swift criminal prosecution not just political consequences (i.e. recall) If it can be proven Snyder knew about it but let the poisoning continue then it's voluntary, if not it's involuntary. Either way poisoning a city should be a crime and prosecuted.

"That change brought immediate complaints about the taste, smell and appearance of the water. The lead tests could have spurred action in July, but instead it was not until October, after blood test results showed elevated lead levels in Flint children, that the DEQ admitted making a mistake by failing to require the addition of needed corrosion control chemicals to the Flint River water. The state also provided funds to help Flint reconnect to Lake Huron water supplied by Detroit."

The people knew, and the state didn't do anything till October..so people drank poison for at least 3 and a half months..because Gov POISON WOULD NOT LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO WERE DRINKING THE WATER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if Governor Poison ever drank any himself to test it out?...what do you think?????

Doesn't lead stick to the insides of plastic pipes? So you can't ever get it out? And you have to replace all the plumbing in every house in Flint to solve the problem? And can't they deduct the cost of replacing all the plumbing in Flint, Michigan, from Rick Snyder's paycheck?

And more importantly, can anyone please tell me why every Republican governor named Rick needs to be taken out back and shot?
