I also heard that Meadowlark Lemon died too. Is that true? I can't stand it.

There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family.

We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words.

We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD.
Have a drink or few.

Share stories.

Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself.

HE WOULD WANT EXACTLY THAT.

One thing you can say for him is that this man definitely went out with his boots on.

I named one of my cats after him. His name gets spoken many times a day in my home.

Beyond that, words fail me.

Probably better, regardless, to go this way than to linger on for a few years as a semi-invalid.

I'm in a holding cell, waiting to be processed upstairs into the big tank.

People have been using matches to make heat-smoke messages on the ceiling.

On the ceiling above my bunk: "The Hawkwind Tribe lives on. Never give in"

And I had to admire the soul who left that message for me. I wondered what his story was.

You blasted it all the way through your three score and ten, Lemmie.

What a dude.

I could open some of the good stuff, but I'm going for the rougher Bank Note Scotch. It's more in line with tonight's mood.

Motörhead frontman Lemmy has been killed by death, it has been announced.

“Look, I’m sorry about this but in my defense he had been on my list since 1975,” a visibly upset Death told us.

“I’ve actually been trying to collect him for forty years, and nothing stuck. You’ve got to respect that.

“You shouldn’t be too sad though; Lemmy did say that he didn’t want to live forever,” he added. “It’s in the fucking song.”
