Bernie Sanders has now received 2 million campaign contributions, aides say

Source: Washington Post

By John Wagner

Aides to Bernie Sanders said Wednesday night that his campaign has now collected more than 2 million individual contributions and that they expect to outpace President Obama’s 2012 reelection effort on that count by the end of the year.

The number reflects an operation that has focused on raising money in small increments from an exceptionally wide range of donors -- with the vast majority of contributions coming over the Internet. As of Wednesday, the average donation to Sanders’s campaign was less than $30, aides said.

Hillary Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, had raised more money overall than Sanders -- $77.5 million to $41.5 million -- as of Sept. 30, the last deadline for reporting contributions to the Federal Election Commission. But the Vermont senator had received more donations than any candidate from either party -- a trend that appears to be continuing.

With Sanders nearing the 2 million mark, his campaign made a big push this week through email solicitations to cross the threshold.

I thought it would take until the last month before the first primary vote, to get to 40 million. I am happy to see that was achieved plus some extra and a couple months ahead of what I was thinking.

I love that guy. Him and the coach for the Mexican soccer team I forget his name. But, he is easily the best coach in the world. Even when his team is winning he acts as if they are behind a couple of goals.

Hopefully he will use it to help Dems on the down ballot races!! Hillary will need some help in the House and Senate when she is President!! (Dems can take back Senate and pick up seats in House if Dems all work together!!)

if it were Donald Trump.

But since it's Bernie I doubt it will be mentioned on network news.

...because it must be the network and basis for an alternative to the moribund corporate Democratic Party we have now. When the election is over, no matter who wins, this political vehicle should not be abandoned in some cow pasture. It's ready to roll.
