18 Million Watch CNN GOP Debate

Source: AdWeek

Last night’s debate, moderated by Wolf Blitzer along with Hugh Hewitt and Dana Bash, was bested by the first two outings in August (on FNC) and September (on CNN), but drew more viewers than the two most-recent debates on CNBC and FBN. This was the 5th GOP debate of this cycle. By this time in the 2012 cycle there had been 13 GOP debates.

The early debate with the lower-tier candidates at 6 p.m. ET drew 5.21 million total viewers and 1.291 million in the demo.

The next debate will be held Saturday night in New Hampshire among the three Democratic candidates, with coverage on ABC. The next GOP debate will be Jan. 14 on Fox Business.

Here’s the 2016 debate ranker, which includes Nielsen viewership data, along with livestreaming information provided by the networks.

Will take place during the NFL divisional round playoffs. Surprised DWS didn't try to schedule one opposite the Super Bowl.

If Trump dropped out, the #'s would go way down. He's a sideshow. People love watching to see if he'll say anything crazy.

He takes all the energy with him. Ted Cruz delusionally believes he'd be the recipient of all Trump's supporters. I think they'll simply return to being non-voters.

I was in a bar and out of the corner of my eye, I saw a few minutes, closed-captioned.

Did I 'watch' the debate?

To sleep after a long day. I tried to watch it a couple of times and kept dozing off. Thirteen year olds fighting while being irrelevant and insanely boring.

... but somehow I suspect a good majority of the viewers enjoyed it, the same way they enjoy WWE and The Jerry Springer Show.
