(4,522 posts)"beyond a reasonable doubt" has caused a lot of mistrials and hung juries. I think they will re-try it. Both sides want a precedent for the next 5 trials.

(3,764 posts)Porter said they didn't belt them in because the quarters were too tight and the prisoner might be able to grab his gun...
So why in the f*ck don't they take their gun and lock it in the vehicle cab, then have your partner come and stand at the back of the van while you load the prisoners up and belt them in. Your partner has his gun in case anything happens but you don't run the risk of having a prisoner grab your gun while they are being seat-belted in.
The excuse sounds either lazy or stupid, or both!

(51,579 posts)I would have to agree. I thought the prosecutor, Marilyn Mosby, was pretty unprofessional at her initial press conference too. She shouldn't have bragged about what she was going to do. She should have just done it. Now that she didn't do it, she has lost credibility. And she committed really lame rookie mistakes too, like failing to turn over exculpatory evidence to the defense, as noted in Goldie Taylor's Daily Beast piece.
