Muhammad Ali on Donald Trump: 'Muslims have to stand up' to anti-Islamic speech

Donald Trump may call him a “friend,” but boxing champion Muhammad Ali is clearly unhappy with the businessman’s politics.

Ali, one of America’s best-known Muslims, defended his religion as one of peace and criticized those who mischaracterize Islam for personal gain, in a statement aimed at the Republican presidential front-runner.

“We as Muslims have to stand up to those who use Islam to advance their own personal agenda,” Ali said in a statement first released to NBC News. “They have alienated many from learning about Islam. True Muslims know or should know that it goes against our religion to try and force Islam on anybody.”

While the statement doesn’t name Trump, it’s an obvious broadside against the billionaire: It is titled “Presidential Candidates Proposing to Ban Muslim Immigration to the United States,” a plan Trump shared on Monday.

seem to experience as they become more devout? Then watch a lot of people lose their fear of being killed by islamist terrorists who are killing anyone who doesn't believe what they do and in strict sharia law.

Ali has not spoken out against the terrorists nearly as aggressively as when he feels that something he cares about is being addressed.
