You're absolutely right about how far T.rump has gone out on a limb, leftynyc.
Just as important, The Donald lacks the temperament to be a national leader.

'Cause... well... Israel likes to prevent entry by Muslims too. And Bibi's probably MORE extreme than Trump in most relevant regards.

But somewhere in that ice cream-filled head of his, Netanyahu understands that Trump ain't going to be the next president. So he's jumping onto the side opposite Trump, even if it's blatantly hypocritical.

The anger, and reaction that would have caused would have been devastating. Not having him there is the right move.

to the Temple Mount (who wasn't a Muslim) would have been a lot of trouble. Only Muslims are allowed to pray there - Christians and Jews are forbidden to pray on the Mount.

I was more talking about what THEY would say to HIM. I have no idea what their history is but I can tell you I, and many other Jews, hear words like "that group is a problem", "we have to keep them out", we have to throw them out" and chills go up our spines. A few short decades ago, the same things were being said about us.

Was cheered when he questioned Obama's "origin" and then booed when he questioned Israeli's commitment to peace, also when he said that the "Jews could not buy him.."

I suspect that this event was a factor, too.
