Oscar Pistorius has been granted bail while he waits to be sentenced for murdering his girlfriend in 2013.

That hearing should take place next year on 18 April.

He is being asked to pay 10,000 rand ($700, £450) for his bail.

He will be under house arrest and will be electronically tagged, but can leave the house between 7am and midday though only to go within a 20km radius.

Pistorius also has to hand over his passport.

He is facing a minimum 15 year sentence - though the judge can exercise some discretion

a convicted murderer gets to stay home, go outside within 20 kms., have people come by and visit, order pizza and get a masseuse to come by etc.. I guess if I want to kill someone someday I should do it in South Africa...Put the fucking man in jail where he belongs for intentionally firing a gun into the room where he knew his girlfriend had just fled from his bashing her with a cricket bat. Oscar is no decent fellow; he is a rabid piece of woman-hating abuser and murderer and needs to be removed from society permanently. 5. letting this killer out on bail is disgusting

he brutally killed a woman that was cowering in hear in a bathroom.

I'm glad he's been rightfully convicted. he is a horrible, disgusting person.
