UNION, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — A New Jersey woman has been charged with making fake threats against black students at Kean University last month.

Kayla-Simone McKelvey, 24, of Union Township faces one count of creating a false public alarm.

The Union County prosecutor’s office says McKelvey participated in a Nov. 17 rally on racial issues at Kean and then went to a computer station in a campus library and posted anonymous threats on Twitter against black students.

In fact, not only are they specifically exempt from 1st amendment protection, they are in fact, crimes. Doesn't matter the gender or color of the person that committed it.

If you think she flat out didn't do it, and was framed, that would be interesting, and should be pursued. The police, courts, etc, are not above fuckery when it comes to race. I don't see any reason to think she was falsely accused in this case, but I'd be willing to listen to evidence.

I used to work at a court house, and a few police departments, and a jail, and the people making bomb and death threats were arrested for good reason. I'm a systems engineer - not a cop. I worked for a very large city, in the capacity of keeping the servers up. We had lots of bomb and death threats, and so did the mayor (who's computers I also kept up.) The threats were never treated like jokes and they should never be.

A police report filed in March questions how hate mail ended up in the PO Box for the Spokane chapter of the NAACP. On Wednesday, the Spokane Police Department released an eleven page report into their findings thus far.

In March, Spokane NAACP President Rachel Dolezal claimed she found an envelope with pictures of lynchings and references to local cases concerning race.

The envelope containing the letter was found in the NAACP mailbox at the Rosewood Post Office along North Monroe.

However, investigators later noticed important marks missing from the package.

It was delivered to a post office box. But it did not have a date stamp or barcode according to an on-going police report by SPD.

kinds of threats to jews on the site and got caught and said it was to get attention to the persecution jews face.
I agree, it's a need to get attention as well as play the victim (when someone does this.) I'm perfectly aware there is real anti-semitism out there which is why threats should be taken seriously.
