BLC upholds Sanders, Trump on primary ballots (New Hampshire)

Source: NH Union Leader

By DAN TUOHY

The New Hampshire Ballot Law Commission has upheld Secretary of State Bill Gardner’s decision to accept Sen. Bernie Sanders as a Democrat on the presidential primary ballot.

And the commission took just a few minutes Tuesday to dismiss former state GOP Chairman Fergus Cullen's complaint of Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump's placement on the GOP primary ballot.

Cullen claimed that Trump does not represent the views of the Republican Party. "I'm also here to warn that Donald Trump does not share our democratic values. He is a dangerous demagogue ..."

BLC Chairman Bradford E. Cook then interrupted Cullen to ask what authority the commission had to consider any of his claims relative to his views. Cook also said he checked and confirmed that Trump is a registered Republican in New York. Added Cook, "Why are we here?"

The DNC and others were all telling New Hampshire to put Sanders on the Ballot and that there was no reason to exclude Sanders from the NH ballot. As a supporter of Hillary Clinton, I am relieved and glad that Sanders will be on the New Hampshire ballot.

What he does not represent is the airing of those views in open view of the public, from whom the GOP has been sneaking the truth into political double-speak and action for decades.

to speak out. Keeping someone off the ballot is not the way to do it.

I agree with you. Trump does represent them. If they don't like it, they need to prove it by electing someone else, disavowing Trump and his racism and selfishness. I wonder if they can do that.
