Trump: My Fans Were Right to Beat Up Protesters
Source: Think Progress
After his supporters beat up a Black Lives Matter protester on video, Donald Trump suggested that they may have done the right thing.
The protester, a black man, reportedly started chanting Black Lives Matter at a rally in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday. In a video captured by CNN reporter Jeremy Diamond, rally attendees swarm around the man, kicking and punching him as he curls up on the ground.
Trump was asked to weigh in on his supporters actions on Fox & Friends Sunday morning. Maybe he should have been roughed up, he said. It was disgusting what he was doing.
The Republican frontrunner compared what happened at his rally to a Black Lives Matter protest at a Bernie Sanders event, which prompted the Democratic candidate to release a detailed racial justice plan. This is not the way Bernie Sanders handled his problem, I will tell you, but I have a lot of fans and they were not happy about it. And this was a very obnoxious guy, a troublemaker, looking to make trouble, Trump said.
He gave a similarly winking response when his supporters have turned violent in the past. Two men in Boston said they ambushed and brutally beat a homeless Latino man because they were inspired by Trump, who later explained his supporters are very passionate and love this country.

He said this today on Fox & Friends. The idea of beating up someone, for protesting a speech, is abhorrent to the U.S.Constitution.
There are so many other choices to physical violence and here Trump comes very close, if not actually endorsing "physical violence" for protesting peacefully. This kind of thinking is very dangerous as we know..

(10,749 posts)is that if the word went out from the Trump campaign to attack Hispanic-owned or Black-owned or Muslim-owned businesses, his followers would do just that. And instead of being horrified, his poll numbers would rise.
So when we ask how the situation in German could have developed as it did, we are watching that very thing now in the US. And when Carson says that the Jews could have averted the Holocaust had they been armed, we may get a chance to see that as well.

I didn't know the feminist were included in Nazi propagand until last week when I was reading about Theodore Lessing and how the nazi propaganda started - against the homeless, immigrants and feminists and Jews. Lessing was the first man Hitler had executed because he was a newpaper reporter who stood up against the propaganda.

(10,749 posts)Look at the polls. Look at his rallies. Look at the comments from the trolls on liberal sites. These are not the brightest people that America has to offer. They neither know nor care about history. If you tell them that this kind of talk lead to the Holocaust and the death of 6 million Jews and millions of Poles, homosexuals, etc., they would tell you that they are fine with that, seeing Trump as the man who can finish the job that this Hitler guy started.

Which is a project of mine - clarifying bogus or shaky internet meme's. The other one i got is; "So many books, so little time." - Frank Zappa. FZ didn't like to read much - he got his news from CNN. I have never seen this quote in print except for meme's, so my ruling is he did not say this. He did adore libraries and his bust is at the Baltimore Public Library. FZ used libraries to educate himself about music and was a big free speech advocate.

Trump is not dumb. And he recieved a decent education. This shit worked quite well from Rome in the fifth through first decades before the Common Era, it worked in the Weimar republic, and it's worked a hundred times in-between. Lots of violent supporters who will beat the crap out of anyone interfering with your political machine.
He MUST know that this is the way a republic falls into a monarchy. And he's probably quite cool with that. When I look at pictures of a younger Trump I see EXACTLY what I imagine Nero must have looked like.
I see a future Plutarch painting him as a modern day Crassus, and probably involving disastrous military adventure for the sake of political glory to legitimize himself, with our luck. He is the most interesting person the Republicans have come up with in a long time; his wealth lets him just laugh at *their* party leadership (lucky bastard). I think he started running as a lark- I mean what's a few hundred million to feed your ego- and then suddenly to his initial surprise found himself the frontrunner. Sounds like a fucking musical comedy if it wasn't real!

How could any American even think of "registering" someone based on their religion? How Hitler-like he is becoming and it's scary how many Americans applaud this. Just like many Germans totally supported Hitler. He didn't start out with the concentration camps, first it was the registration, then the stars, then the pogroms, then the concentrated killings at camps.
How awful are the Repugs and msm that I haven't heard one of them prominently stating how awful the entire concept is, not one who commented on how close this is to fascism and what a dangerous un-American step it would be.
