COLUMBIA, South Carolina On the campus of Allen University, a small HBCU downtown here, Bernie Sanders gave a crowd at a criminal justice advocacy summit a lesson in the obvious: Its not going well for him in the fourth state on the Democratic primary calendar.
But, Sanders said, theres still time.
We are going to do well in South Carolina, but were not doing well right now, Sanders said. Im the first to admit it.
Sanderss view of the state of the race overall was a significantly rosier picture.

(14,733 posts)He'd have lost the election if held at any point in the campaign since he signed on, because he's never yet been ahead in national polling. But the winner of the race is the one who wins when the race is actually held, not months before it happens. Ms Kinnard really seems to be stretching for some way to write a negative storyline there.

(5,400 posts)When people see the reality, and not just the abstract, of having a choice besides that of Secretary Clinton, that is the field where the message of the Sanders campaign will bear fruit.

(23,148 posts)He's incredible, but it's so very hard for me to get emotionally invested in him winning when our system is so very corrupt and our population is so easily fooled. ARGHH!!!
