Police have closed Blackfriars Road in south London after officers stopped a van and arrested three men travelling in it.
The Metropolitan police did not give any further details about why the van was stopped on the A201 on Saturday afternoon. The road, which leads on to Blackfriars bridge, remains closed in both directions severely disrupting traffic.
At least one police helicopter is in the air and an ambulance is also on the scene.
A cycle superhighway is being constructed on the road and the police action has forced contractors to suspend work.
