Clinton to appear at UD for Peace Accords anniversary

Source: Dayton Daily News

DAYTON —

Former President Bill Clinton is expected to appear at the University of Dayton’s River Campus today for a luncheon address and it’s possible there could be traffic issues around the venue on Patterson Blvd.

Clinton is the keynote speaker for the Dayton Peace Accords at 20 Conference luncheon and was one of the key players in helping bring the end to the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which cost 100,000 lives and drove two million people from their homes.

The events come on the 20th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Accords, which were finalized Nov. 21, 1995 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s Hope Hotel.

Big thanks go to Richard Holbrooke and Wes Clark, who actually did the work.

See the HBO movie, The Diplomat, for a good history of the times.

That horribly bloody war was yet another contributor to today's chaos. It went on much too long and fed the perception that no one in the West cared about the slaughter of Muslims in Bosnia.
