HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) The latest on the scheduled Wednesday execution of Texas inmate Raphael Holiday (all times local):

The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to stop the scheduled execution of a Texas inmate condemned for setting a fire that killed his 18-month-old daughter and her two young half-sisters at an East Texas home 15 years ago.
Raphael Holiday's execution set for Wednesday evening remains on hold, however, because his trial court judge earlier in the day withdrew the execution warrant after Holiday's trial lawyer filed an appeal. The Texas Attorney General's Office is appealing to lift the order.
Austin-based lawyer Gretchen Sween argued to the Supreme Court that Holiday's court-appointed attorneys improperly abandoned him after the high court in June refused to review his case. Those lawyers advised Holiday his legal issues were exhausted and new appeals and a clemency petition would be fruitless.
