German police have arrested three people in the western city of Aachen in an operation linked to the attacks in Paris on Friday which killed at least 129 people, German broadcaster ARD reported on Tuesday, citing police.

No one at the police was immediately available to confirm the report and there were no further details on ARD.

Three arrested in Aachen linked to Paris attacks

Three people have been arrested in connection with the Paris attacks in Aachen, near Germany's border with the Netherlands, police said on Tuesday.

Police said that the three were taken into custody in Alsdorf, in the district of Aachen near the border with the Netherlands.

The Aachener Zeitung (AZ) reported that special police forces had arrested two women and a man at about 9.30am at a job centre.

Large numbers of police were on the scene. Eyewitnesses said they saw the two women being led away in handcuffs.
