U.S. senators, mayors fight ‘garbage’ claims they’re linked to KKK

Source: Austin's KXAN (local news and nbc affiliate)

WASHINGTON (MEDIA GENERAL) – Four U.S. senators are fighting back against unconfirmed, anonymous accusations that they’re affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan.

Internet hacktivist group Anonymous announced an event called “HoodsOff2015,” according to The Hill, with a promise of exposing members and affiliates of the KKK.

On Monday, several prominent lawmakers – including mayors and United States senators – fiercely denied any purported link between themselves and the white supremacy group, as found in the Anonymous-related documents.

I would think that any truly accurate list of KKK members would also be jam packed with the names of Congress Critters. The true fruit of all of the gerrymandered voting districts.

I would be surprised to see any. It's mostly splinter groups of methheads now. There's really no incentive to join - especially for politicians.

sure that many Repuke politicians' sympathies lie with the Klan. Hell, George "Macaca" Allen named his only son Forrest, as in Nathan Bedford Forrest, early KKK Grand Wizard. Racism has long been a defining trait of the Republican Party, and the phony indignation of guys like Cornyn is just laughable.

of the Klan, but I could see them having connections to racist organisations like the Klan or neo-Nazis. A lot of current Republican ideology, especially with southern Republicans, has a racist, nativist streak. A lot of them will admit in private that they admire some of the things Hitler did. A common statement I hear from people is, "you know, Hitler started out good, he just went too far."
