New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) sparred with CNBC's debate moderators Wednesday night during a tense back-and-forth exchange.
"Even in New Jersey, what you are doing is called rude," Christie declared to the audience's loud approval at one point.
The discussion started with moderator Carl Quintanilla asking about fantasy football and the investigation into allegations of misconduct within the two biggest daily-fantasy sports websites.
"Carl, are we really talking about getting the government involved in fantasy football? Wait a second. We have $19 trillion in debt. We have people out of work. We have ISIS and al Qaeda attacking us. And we're talking about fantasy football!" Christie exclaimed as the audience roared.
"Enough on fantasy football! Let people play! Who cares!" he added.
Moderator John Harwood then turned to climate change and asked what Christie would do to address the problem.
"First off, what we don't do is do what Hillary Clinton and John Kerry and Barack Obama want us to do, which is their solution for everything: Put more taxes on it," Christie said.

Chris here :
I got the moderator real good that time. Even in New Jersey ha ha ha .
The art of being rude in the New Jersey I govern is in the act of being rude as all hell and making those you are bringing it down on
out to be the rude ones. I call that a grand slam.
I really dug up a good one that time ! A rude awakening indeed .
It's got to be worth at least a half a point in a bump up.
Right off the old train folks ! no no I mean bat !

(3,426 posts)And the question I think as it were presented actually fit the occasion. If you think about it ,the debate thing was billed by the media as a show down - you know like a shoot out at the fantasy factory. It was a bait question and as expected Christie took the bait. They stuck him in the equivalent of a broom closet to prepare. Some of the others got luxury accommodations !
And sure he really didn't like that- being stuck in a little old broom closet. Christie's blood was boiling hot coming out
of the gate !
Take a look at what he came up with from within the confines of that little old broom closet.

Oh yea Christie turned over the tables !
Truth be known he took the bait -we shall see what comes of it later on down the road !!!!!
Lets see, there was a theater room, one with a Jacuzzi, big rooms with lots of cool stuff !
And they stuck Christie in a little old broom closet just big enough for Christie to fit into.!!!!
How does the saying go- big fish -little pond !
Or maybe it looked more like a jail cell. !
And wouldn't that be fitting !

(12,296 posts)... when Crispy spouted those entirely hallucinogenic talking points about $19T, ISIS and Al Q attacking America etc ... why didn't the moderator, uhh ... gently correct him - in the context of his response (aside from being afraid Crispy would physically attack him)?

(1,803 posts)His answer was spot on! Who cares? We have casinos being built all over the place, and sports betting is rampant. Apart from all the annoying television ads during football games, does anyone really care?

However is fairness, media needs to ask questions of Hillary's record too. Instead of treating her as royalty.

(11,841 posts)But anyone who has watched all the debates can see that there is some difference in the questioning of the candidates. I'm not afraid to admit that. But they should be able to handle it
After bernie gave Hillary a total pass during their debate, i could see why she wouldnt be asked many more questions about the email issue. Thats why she had such a big smile on her face when he said it!!

(3,426 posts)Chris Christie should pack it in and head back to New Jersey, the editorial board of The New York Times wrote Thursday.
"Its that time in the ever-long presidential campaign when candidates lacking money and mojo are starting to go back to their plows. Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey should join them," the paper said, citing an array of economic and structural issues in need of attention.
Story Continued Below
While the state is "in trouble," the Times wrote, Christie is "off pursuing a presidential run thats turned out to be nothing more than a vanity project."
"Mr. Christies numbers are in the basement, and hes nearly out of campaign cash. This is his moment, all right: to go home and use the year left in his term to clean out the barn, as Speaker John Boehner would say," it continued.
In the four months since Christie entered the GOP race, he has not earned much support among likely Republican primary voters, the paper said. In addition, it noted his lagging fundraising numbers, compared with those of Ben Carson and Jeb Bush ($4.2 million in the past quarter, compared with $20.1 million for Carson and $13.4 million for Bush).
This is funny ,Christie for once in his public life came out with the truth not realizing it in all that it means !
Christie tweeted his response to the Times writing that -he could not read the article because I don't have a subscription ,
But I Can Tell You This, 'I'm Not Going Anywhere ! And thats the truth, he's not. Thing of is, he just can't see it yet !
Most likely for real for the very first time in life ,what he has to say about himself is actually very funny. In blunt talk writing he said it like it is, he's going nowhere. And thats the sum of Chris Christie and his organization ,friends of Christie and on and so on. .
New Jersey transplants around the country must be seeing their dreams of returning in full glory are shattered ! The've connected into a whole lot of nothing-on the face of it !!!
Thats very funny !
