National: Clinton Holds Post-Debate Lead
Source: Monmouth University
West Long Branch, NJ Hillary Clintons lead in the Democratic field has ticked up to 48% after
the first debate. When Joe Biden is removed from the equation, though, her support increases to a clear
majority. The latest national Monmouth University Poll of Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters
suggests that the partys first presidential debate helped the front-runner.
Hillary Clinton currently has the support of 48% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters
nationwide, which is up from 42% last month. Bernie Sanders gets 21%, which is basically unchanged
from his 20% support in September. Undeclared candidate Joe Biden has 17% support, down from 22%
last month. Jim Webb and Larry Lessig each get 1%, while Martin OMalley and Lincoln Chafee each
earn less than 1%.
Biden supporters were asked who they would support if the Vice President does not enter the
race, and most swing toward Clinton, giving her a formidable 57% to 24% lead over Sanders.
Democratic voters continue to show some interest in having Biden enter the race, though. In addition to
the 17% who support him now, 10% say they would be very likely to switch their vote to Biden and
another 31% would be somewhat likely. Further analysis of these results indicates that even if all those
very likely to support Biden actually switch their vote, Clinton would maintain a lead of 42% to 27% for
Biden, with Sanders falling to third place at 20%.
The specter of a Biden candidacy still hangs over this race, but Clinton can take comfort that she
has appeared to win back some support with a solid debate performance, said Patrick Murray, director of
the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute in West Long Branch, NJ.

So, does a University sponsored poll (Quinnipiac / Monmouth / Suffolk) engender the same distrust as a "corporate" poll?

But in the end, the revolution is going to capsize the yacht the elites are sailing on. Indictment or not.

(13,685 posts)How could I do that? You have all the answers.
I know some of you have faith that NO ONE ever who has power would ever do anything that they could be held accountable for, but that if you're just a regular person and happen to get shot by a cop, well, too bad, sucker.

Since both were hatched by the GOP to Get Hillary and nothing else?
Also hatched by the same hen is the PP smear and "investigations"...different eggs, same bird.
Who do you trust more, Clinton or anyone in the GOP, or anything they say....anyone or anything at all?!

(23,867 posts)The debate is about learning who the candidates are, and what they can do for our country. Not some god damned dressage competition.
No one who voted for Bush's illegal invasion is winning anything but condemnation, except from those who like how things are.

(13,685 posts)That elephant is: Someone who is very likely to start more wars.
But the problem we see is that way too many Dems can't see that Clinton is the war elephant.
Most of the people in the country are sick and tired of wars. They will not vote for someone who votes for wars.

The disparity of the two latest polls - Monmouth +28 Hill, and CNN +16 Hill, is a bit weird.
