Bernie Comes To Hillary's Defense: America's 'Tired Of Hearing About Your Damn Emails!' (VIDEO)
Source: TPM
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) came to the defense of his rival, Hillary Clinton, during Tuesday's first Democratic debate over questions about her use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state.
"Let me say something that may not be great politics. But I think the secretary is right," he said, gesturing toward Clinton. "And that is that the American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails."
Thank you. Thank you, Clinton said in response, breaking into surprised laughter.
Their exchange was met with some of the loudest applause of the night.

(10,597 posts)Besides "tired of hearing about your damn e-mails", the other words that stuck out to me was when Bernie described the current Middle East mess as "...a quagmire in a quagmire." Got pretty tired of Webb's whining, though. And, not that I minded it, but Hill pulled the "gender card" at least twice that I remember. I thoroughly enjoyed the debate.

(63,912 posts)the next day. It was very moving to me. She's lived this. I think I liked that moment best. I think lots of women are going to see that clip and say "she knows this because she's lived it."

(8,032 posts)Nice gesture, but naive. Nice gestures do not defeat Clintons. And Clintons do not return favors unless it benefits them.
No one on that stage took HRC to the woodshed over the email issue, despite it being a decision issue for tens of millions of primary voters. A bunch of political amateurs, imo.
I support Bernie. Either he dumps the "not great politics" approach or he will be eliminated by a Clinton team that has no misgivings about how the game of national politics is played.

(12,704 posts)that display of spontaneous decency is a great first impression and the debate is really the first time many people actually see him. 2 - It counters the stereotype that those on the left are strident, negative and uncouth rabble rousers. 3 - Humor is incredibly endearing and that humorous quip endeared his to thousands, for a second it clearly endeared him even to Hillary.
