(32,324 posts)End its ties to the Nuclear Industry, to which Obama has already promised some 55 billions of dollars.
If you took all the money that gets spent "modernizing" our military, bequeathing the UAE and Israel with weaponry, giving tens of billions of pay offs to the nuclear war heads people, and now to the nuclear industry itself, and instead distributed it among the states here at home, the economy would come back with a vengeance.

(193 posts)Their final goal was then and is now to have the uber rich with everything and the rest of us left with nothing.
And for some reason these fools think the US will continue being a world power after they reduce it into another Gilded Age.

(16,986 posts)...published an article that described the right's vision as a return to the Gilded Age. What's scary is that since then, the GOP has proven far more extreme than during the G.W. Bush administration.

I would support a government shutdown before paying a ransom to the thugs in the Republican House again.

(6,395 posts)...he wants to paint Obama as unreasonable by not tieing the two together, therefore in protecting the solvency, credit and honor of the USA, he will raise the debt ceiling. He knows playing chicken again will cost him.
But if Obama agree's to the conditions, he looks bad due to cutting domestic spending (even if military spending is cut). If he doesn't, agree...he just looks bad in front of Republicans and those who say they are independents but really Republicans.
