Gov. Scott Walker's approval rating in Wisconsin has declined again to 37 percent after his exit from the presidential race, the newly released Marquette Law School Poll has found.
The poll, the first conducted since Walker bowed out of the presidential race last week, provides a yardstick for Walker's support in his home state.
It shows 59 percent of respondents disapproving of the job Walker is doing -- and has Walker's approval declining for the third consecutive time.
The poll shows businessman Donald Trump rising to claim first place among Republican candidates in Wisconsin's presidential primary. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leads Democratic presidential contenders.
Democrat Russ Feingold reclaims a big lead in the poll over GOP Sen. Ron Johnson in Wisconsin's U.S. Senate race. Feingold leads Johnson 50 percent to 36 percent.
The Marquette poll was conducted by phone from Sept. 24-28, with 803 registered Wisconsin voters. Both landline and cell phones were used.............

His disapproval rating seems great, but his argument has been that his constituency is angry at him because of his absence. If he is there fool thyme again, will that rating drop? I don't think so, but then, I thought the Tea Party was dead 4 years ago.

(9,132 posts)My best hopes and wishes to you all. I hope Wisconsinites can effect a successful voter revolt that throws "ALEC" Walker and the Tea-Baggers back into the political obscurity they deserve.
It is frightening to see a Blue state like WI go red.

(70,322 posts)When Walker stepped down--his wish was to step on Trump and urged other candidates to do so also. Maybe it is Karma that WI voters did this. ha ha

Walker is NOT Thomson! Scotty could have lost in a landslide had the base come out to vote instead of sitting home a complaining about their pet issues.

(2,548 posts)Most of the people of Wisconsin are into fairness, honesty and hope for a better future for their kids and everybody else's kids. They simply were not prepared for someone as nasty, narcissistic, and duplicitous as Walker is. He was exposed to the world as the child he really is in the republican campaign and rejected even though he had the blessing of bottomless financing. His failure is the most telling, the most exposing of all of his character in that even he saw that he was a infant in the political world of national politics, thus his self exile from the primary race. His slaughter of Wisconsin idealism and humanity through destroying unions, higher education, health care, jobs and the Wisconsin ideal of common cause with each other will be an albatross hanging around the neck of Wisconsin history for all time. Even Ronald Reagan would not recognize nor agree with this self described acolyte and advocate of human misery. One can only imagine the harm and hate that would have consumed the nation had he become president.
