Old-school and current vaccines have no link to autism (again), study says

Source: LA Times

Multiple vaccines containing the preservative thimerosal, administered to macaque monkeys on the schedule that pediatricians followed in the 1990s, resulted in none of the key brain or behavioral changes linked to autism, a new study shows.

The same study also administered a wide range of vaccines including the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine--which never contained thimerosal--to rhesus macaques. Again, it found no evidence of changes in brains or behavior that would implicate either the much-maligned MMR vaccine or a combination of many vaccines as a cause of or contributor to autism.

Just two weeks after candidates for the Republican presidential nomination reprised the allegation that childhood vaccines may be responsible for the dramatic rise in the number of children with autism, the new research offers additional evidence against such a link.

did they feed the monkey's an American kid's diet with plenty of sugar,
artificial flavorings, artificial sweeteners, soft drinks, gmo grains and proteins,
amalgams in their teeth and from in vitro sources for several generations,
exhaust fumes, fish from oceans, lakes, and farms, pesticides from veggies?

Environment is everything when replicating allergies or toxicity. In such
an environment, the preservative may be combining with something or
raising the level beyond a critical point.

Don't forget a fatty diet with deep fries and therefore plenty of nickel.

to the extent it would stand up to undisputed scientific inquiry or
in a court of law.

That said, for those afflicted, and for doctors who are allergists and who
treat the condition, it is very real. A lot of people are sick from it, and a lot
of people have recovered from it following the protocols that have been developed.

Here are two large yahoo groups that deal with metal toxicity, particularly mercury

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/frequent-dose-chelation/info

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/adult-metal-chelation/info

A general reading online will reveal:

There are tests to measure mercury in the body, they're not recognized by mainstream
medicine generally. Different people have different symptoms, and mercury is rarely
measured in the blood, if it were detectable there you'd be sick indeed. It hides in
body fat, tissues, and brain.

Mad as a hatter was from mercury used to preserve hats. Those workers were driven
crazy by it, and it's still the same substance in air, water, food chain.

For one thing, you're referring to industrial exposure to mercury which is not the same thing as casual exposure. For another thing it's not the same substance. There are different types of mercury compounds that behave far differently. Pretending it's all the same thing is simply the same bullshit perpetrated by anti-vax heroes like Jenny McCarthy who obviously don't know shit from beans about the subject and keep throwing out bullshit in hopes that something will stick.

it's usually not wise to use a Yahoo! group as "proof." They're called yahoos for a reason.

We'll leave the errors about mercury off the table for now until we see something that's actually science, and isn't from Wakefield or his equally-discredited cohorts.

It would be one thing if they were just ignorant, but they are promoting ignorant quackery which is actually quite dangerous.

In alternative medicine, some physicians claim chelation therapy can treat a variety of ailments, including heart disease and autism.[28][29] The use of chelation therapy by alternative medicine practitioners for behavioral and other disorders is considered pseudoscientific; there is no proof that it is effective.[30] In addition to being ineffective, chelation therapy prior to heavy metal testing can artificially raise urinary heavy metal concentrations (“provoked” urine testing) and lead to inappropriate and unnecessary treatment.[31] The American College of Medical Toxicology and the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology warn the public that chelating drugs used in chelation therapy may have serious side effects, including liver and kidney damage, blood pressure changes, allergies and in some cases even death of the patient.[31]

vaccines in 1983: 10
vaccines in 2013: 36-38

no way we can know what kind of effects that ramped up schedule will have ...gonna take at least another 10-20 years before we know

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be informed and to hold the industry to the same standard we do with so many other things. A trait I used to ascribe to liberals, and that was always asking questions. It is foolish to implicitly trust industries who have proven to frequently place dollars above lives. In my opinion.

There are conditions in which some vaccines are not advised. My stepson has one such condition. Unfortunately we were not aware of it until this year. He is 5 years old and was diagnosed with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. Some of the vaccines he received would not have been given if this had been known at the time. Neurological defects are possible in this instance. We took him to a genetic specialist in Cincinnati and last month. He was also diagnosed autistic though it would be impossible to know if this was from a complication or the syndrome itself.
